She wanted to settle down and start a family, but his past was catching up with him and he just needed to get away. One night while Jackie was sleeping he packed up his stuff and slipped away into the night. Capt. B knew that people he hustled in the town of Tarenda were after him. So he just ran and ran until he found this nice little cave behind a waterfall. Come to find out there was a foul and ugly beast living in the cave. This horrendous beast chased him out of the cave. B goes to the yard to get fresh air. Joe Shmo, an inmate who approaches the Captain in the yard, begins chatting about his life-his karoake career in particular. His hands consistently wave and are turned palm up as he questions the decision he made which landed him in prison.
“Why did I break into that ferrari? And why did that late night jam session with Bo Fred take place in the wealthiest part of town?” reminisced Joe.
The belting of “Bohemian Rhapsody” was a crowd favorite at his local Irish pub as he recalled. He began strumming an air guitar, but only immediately after yelling “Galileo!” at the highest pitch he could muster. While he repeated this pattern, Captain’s eyes scanned the rest of the inmates strewn about the yard that afternoon. A group of tall men gathered in a dirt patch next to the grass. One man hovering over another as he shot his marble toward the center of the circle. Then, the wind began to whisper an interesting idea into the Captain’s ear.
“A singer, music lover, and entertainer...this man may be a celebrity. If he cannot live his dream, someone should definitely write it down,” the wind softly

Written by one of the most recognized Greek philosophers, this quote I believe matches perfectly with Andy, a rebellious teenager with an extreme passion for music. From what I have read in this book, I feel that Andy finds himself when he listens to this music. This is because he is in a rock band and was raised with music. In the book, Andy does not have faith in himself as much as he should. He deems that he never anticipated that life would hand him anything, however things start to change as he and Anita start creating music of their own. Anita starts to change him, makes him realize that life can hand him beautiful things, and that it doesn’t matter where he has come from, or what labors he has gone through, what matters is that he is a moving influential person, and can achieve anything in the world.…

The crew’s delight in their new captain was short-lived. Commander Alfonso moved swiftly to assume command, admonishing his sailors that he would push them hard. He wasn’t joking—soon after the Florida slipped into deep waters to begin a postoverhaul shakedown cruise, the new captain loudly and publicly reprimanded those whose performance he considered lacking. Chief Petty Officer Donald MacArthur, chief of the navigation division, was only one of those who suffered Alfonso’s anger personally. During training exercises, MacArthur was having trouble keeping the boat at periscope depth because of rough seas. Alfonso announced loudly, “You’re disqualified.” He then precipitously relieved him of his diving duty until he could be recertified by extra practice. Word of the incident spread…

The writer of the letter is Bob Dylan. He is a folk rock singer-songwriter whose career began in the early 1960s with songs that spoke social issues like war and civil rights. He was born in 1941 in Minnesota, where he grew up, and attended the University of Minnesota. In 1960, he dropped out in order to pursue a singing career, and moved to New York. People loved him thanks to his poetic lyrics about everyday life that the ordinary “folks” could relate to. He was known for reinventing himself after every new album, which in his later years were not received positively (“Bob Dylan,” Biography.com). He wrote the letter to the two founding editors of Broadside Magazine; Sis Cunningham and husband Gordon Friesen. They were musicians who had worked many odd jobs and lived in poverty the majority of their lives. They wrote articles for the Detroit Times, until they eagerly decided to publish their own contemporary song magazine; Broadside. It was one of the most influential magazines at the time that became available…
