The Ulster Project Analysis
This summer I participated in the Ulster Project of Greater Hutchinson. I had the opportunity, along with fourteen other teenagers in Hutchinson, of hosting a teen from Northern Ireland. The idea behind The Ulster Project is to form young Christian leaders as well as peacemakers here, in America, and in Northern Ireland.
During the month of July we had many different chances to help in our community. Once July was over and I looked back on the month I realized how much Hutchinson has going on. There are a number of organizations that will always take extra help. We got to spend a day with the clients at TECH followed by a dance later that evening with them at Anchor Inn. During that day we got to see everything that happened at the different TECH places in Hutchinson. We got to help some clients dye scarves and neckties. Another thing we got to do was see

The group I was in had to move big branches out of an area and into a truck so they could get rid of the bugs in the branches. It was going really well until one of the Irish kids saw a huge spider. After the spider was spotted the amount of focus from the group drastically went down. Everyone was worried about avoiding the spider. We eventually got the work done with it taking way longer than it should have.
The next night we had the Blarney Sampler. With the help of our Irish teen, we put together two or three Irish dishes for people to come try. As we were planning for it the girl who was staying with me, Jane, noted that there wasn’t a whole lot of strictly Irish food other than spuds. So after finding a recipe that got her okay, we were away mashing potatoes, making pie, and mixing together Irish Soda Bread. That night as all of us proudly stood behind the dishes we made, people came and got a taste of Ireland. July was a once in a lifetime chance and I got to help people while having fun with my new best

McColloch vs. Maryland was a decision constructed by The Supreme Court of the United States. Maryland undertook disrupting an operation of one of the Second Bank of the United States’ branches by striking a tax on all of the banks not authorized by Maryland. The law was identified by the court that Maryland had focused on the United States Bank. The court then allowed the Federal government to pass laws not intended to be for the Constitution’s list of expressed powers. The case that I am referring to as of right now authorized two significant principles in constitutional law. Initially, the constitution stipends implied powers to congress inclining to construct a utilitarian functional government. However, state action could likely…

Once a month, our organization, Ketchikan CPOA helps the local Salvation Army Soup Kitchen prepare meals, serve and clean up, I have dedicated three years of monthly service to helping plan, prep, and cook and serve the citizens of Ketchikan, AK who need it. This service has had a profound effect on my life. The most memorable time I can recall was my first time attending the soup kitchen. I enjoyed meeting the staff at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, working with my fellow Coast Guard men and women to prep the meal, and to meet the patrons who attended breakfast that day.…

“Slow down, future leaders of America at play,” a sign engrained in my memory as a result of the numerous volunteer trips I took to Mountain Mission School. Mountain Mission School (MMS) is a Christian boarding school and home to many children, who come from devastating backgrounds and poverty. Receiving no government funding, Mountain Mission School located in Grundy, Virginia operates solely on private donations and generous charities from churches all over America. In addition to a school, MMS played a key role in my life. Not only was MMS my home but also my church starting from second grade up until I graduated high school.…

It was not like they said it would be. Taking a cold shower from a pipe coming out of the basement wall of a seventy-five-year-old school was not fun. They said this would be the best week of my summer. Until I began writing this essay, I had never thought about the impact my experiences on Appalachian Service Project mission trips had contributed to my transition from childhood to adulthood. However, now I realize that not only was I affecting other people’s lives, but the work I was doing was also changing me. That was the best week of my summer, and so have the two following trips been that I have taken.…

"People tell me I am brave. People tell me I am strong. People tell me good job. Well here is the truth of it. I am really not that brave, I am not really that strong, and I am not doing anything spectacular. I am just doing what God called me to do as a follower of Him. Feed His sheep, do unto the least of His people." These words from Katie Davis speak volumes of this young woman's heart for the people of Uganda. In December of 2006, 18 year-old Katie Davis from Brentwood, Tennessee, traveled to Uganda on a missions trip she did when she was on her school's winter break. She was immediately captivated with the people and the culture. Completely impacted and changed, she decided to go to Uganda and follow her heart and passion for the Lord.…

Throughout my time in high school, the four components of the Micah Program have been a key aspect of my life. Investing my time in these four components have helped me discover my interest and open my eyes to many new experiences. My service also helped me become more involved in my community and the problems that it’s facing. Although I have been a nondenominational Christian for my entire life, I have recently begun to look into other religions. Looking into other religions has allowed to realize the diversity that is within religion.…

If I had the opportunity to meet one person in the world for a day, I would want to meet Pastor Wani who works in the Nuba mountains of Sudan. The Nuba mountains are a very dangerous place for Christians now due to Sudanese government bombers. The bombers often attack churches, hospitals, schools, and homes; people of the Nuba mountains are constantly seeking shelter at the sound of a plane’s engine. Pastor Wani has kept his faith and hope as he strives to protect his people, and continue loving people and spreading the gospel. Pastor Wani was captured by the Sudanese government soldiers earlier this year, but he was able to escape. This evangelist and the people of the Nuba mountains continue to press on through the bombings and torture they…

In this essay I will refer to the present-day provisions of social care services available to children in Ireland. I will refer to the services available: foster care, residential care and detention centres and the origins of these services which include the work houses, the reformatory schools, the industrial schools and the boarding out system. To understand how we have these services today, we must look at where they originated from. Social care practice is hard to define. This has suited agencies and some governments as it helps to keep salaries and career structures vague. (lalor and share An introduction for students in Ireland)…
