Technology advancements have made life easier in many ways. It is used a lot to perform everyday tasks but it may be too much use. The technological advancements in “The Veldt” and apps that allow access to medical records on mobile devices have many benefits but also many detriments.
In the fiction story “The Veldt”, the Hadley family had a lot of technology in their home that provided them with many benefits. The family was catered with machines that completed everyday tasks such as bathing, tying shoes, setting the dinner table, washing dishes, and folding clothes. The children had a nursery that was intended to make the children have happy thoughts and give them the love and care they need. The family was reliant on the house. The lack of bond made the children feel no remorse for the tragic “murder” of their parents. The whole family was waited on hand and foot by the house therefore the parents failed at their job to set morals and teach their children when they decided to purchase it. The house kept the children from learning how to do things on their own which would cause multiple problems later in life. Although, this is a fiction story we continue to see new advancements in todays society that have the same risks.
As of, January 26, 2018, Apple has been working toward developing a way to have access to ones medical records through apps on mobile devices. This new advancement could be very helpful. Access will be available at all times of day, no hassle of calling the doctor's office or scheduling an appointment. All that would have to be done is open up the app on the device.
