Structure:
The Zither normally has a length from 104 to 120 cm, with body width about 20-30cm and height from 15-20cm. The size will be due to number of strings. Its body is a rectangular sounding box which is made of Paulownia wood. Other details like side-pieces, movable bridges, and tuning horses are made of hard wood with strong bolder color while the strings are made of steel. To perform Zither, artists usually wear finger picks made of metal, plastic, or tortoise-shell for audio amplification.

Every scale is equivalent to 5 strings, starting from the outside of the Zither. The low range is begin with a string tuned in C3 then finished at A3. It is bass note, quite deep and reminds of something old, ancient and memorable of the past. Therefore, it is used mostly for imposing and majestic songs. Next, the second range from C4 to A4 strings is medium tone which is happier, brighter and slightly cheers up audience’s mood. Lastly, the highest scale (C5-A5) with high, clear and thinner notes is somewhat like a touch of delight, cheerfulness and happiness of the future.
