The book has two parts, the first part is about king Olaf and his son Harald. The second part is about discorverers like discovering Greenland and Wineland (nowadays) America.
Men of the country norway were great warriors and discoverers they have discovered Iceland en many more lands, but the old sages are the most populair . There are many stories of the old vikings who have live in Norway, old tales were told over and over until everbody knew them and loved them, people called that men skalds and there stories were called sagas, this book is all about that old sages.
Discribe some persons out of the book, I am going to tell about three different persons.
Olaf:
At the day that the son of king Halfdan was born, (the son was called Harald) Olaf had to take care of him.
Olaf learned Harald very much, he has told hem the old sages like, Olaf told the old sages at the Aegir’s rock, Olaf and Harald were there almost every day. Harald liked to here the old sages olaf was telling him, but Olaf didn’t only tell him the sages he also learned Harald very much. For instance he told him about Valhalla the heaven of all warriors Olaf told him that every great warrior went to Valhalla but only if he died in a fight, but there were exceptios. Aegir a great warrior of Iceland has won many battles, but he never died in one battle, so he said: musst I die like a woman and go to Nifleim? He wanted to go to Valhalla, so one day Aegir came to this rock and killed himself with a sword and he died so he can came to Valhalla as a great warrior therefore this rock called, Aegir’s rock. Olaf told and learned Harald many more, until he was adult man and until he was ready to be a good leader!
(King) Harald:
Harald was born as the son of the great king halfdan in his youth he learned at lot from Olaf who was his teacher, his whole youth Olaf was his teacher when his father king Halfdan died Harald musst follow im up, King Halfdan always
