The women talk about their abortion
Do you know someone who has been through the process of abortion? The word abortion is a frightening word to people around the world. In my research, I will question about the legalisation of abortion and explore the consequences of abortion and also why do some people seek abortion. Finally, I will explore in detail the positive and negative effects of abortion in New Zealand society.
What would it be to kill someone so young? A definition of abortion according to bpas organisation website is “termination of pregnancy, it is removed from the womb either by taking pills to cause a miscarriage or by surgery where the pregnancy is removed from the womb”. Abortion, in my definition is taking someone’s life, basically murder. Abortion is a sensitive issue dealt with modern society. Nearly every year, around 12 000 teenagers go through the process of abortion.
Apparently, abortion is legalised. The reason behind this is because the mother has all the human rights to do whatever she wants that concerns her life issues. As it states in the ‘9reasonsabortionislegal’ website, if women are pregnant she has the right to abort as “being a mother is just one option”. There are a lot of reasons a mother should abort. Firstly, having a baby due to being raped can cause emotional effects on people. Second of all, the mother may not wish to give her child to adopt so she feels it’s better if she aborts. Today’s society recommends that women should make her choices rather than building problems in her life. Lastly, abortion being legalised helps in medical complications and occurs after child birth. But do women have the right to steal a life?
Abortion causes physical complications. There are both short term and long term. From the women’s health website, the short term consequences are injuries, bleeding, pain, serious infection and incomplete abortions. The long term effects are future pregnancy failure; it damages the cervix and also affects breast growth. Apart from

Abortion is the act of killing the foetus or baby while it is still in the mother's womb. In the US and many other countries this is legal for the first four months of the pregnancy as aborting after four months is said to be terminating the life of not so much a foetus but a baby. There are a few different methods of abortion. One is to have the baby surgically removed through which the baby's feet are pulled by the abortionist and the living baby is pulled out of the womb except for the head. The abortionist then creates a wound in the base of the baby's skull with scissors or a metal tube and removes the baby's brain with a sucking vacuum-like machine before completely delivering a dead baby. Another way is to medically abort which involves taking medication in the form of a tablet to make impossible conditions in the womb for the baby to live and then delivering the dead foetus.…

Abortion is a controversy that has been argued and fought about for decades. People ask whether it’s the body of the mother or the life of the child, who is in charge? The answer to that is simple. The mother is the one in charge of her body, but while being in charge of her body she engaged in intercourse and as a result there came a baby. Now, the baby is a person too, so going forward with abortion is indeed murder. There are at least three alternatives to abortion: parenting, adoption, and interim foster care (Abortion Alternatives). Most people claim that not everyone is ready to be a parent, and they are correct. However, as was said before there are other options than just being parent. There are options that wouldn’t be murder.…

While abortion may be immediately framed as murder according to the majority of society’s opinion, some still argue that it is abortion is the best option for women’s stable mentalities. This issue is a very controversial matter that many people have debated about. Along with the debates, many laws were also formed to govern the legality of this matter. While only thirty countries from all over the world legalize abortions, the rest of countries have “partial restrictions or complete ban on abortion, unless life of the mother is at stake” (Ladock 1).
