The problem with high schools is the fact that people want to see their children compete against other children. People love a good competition, and that's what a sport is. Theatre is only acting from a script; all fights are scripted. It isn't as interesting to the majority as football, soccer, or baseball. What's the importance of it? Well, one of the answers lies within a quote by Teresa Eyring, "Access to one’s own creativity, as well as that of others, can help level the playing field in an inequitable world, no matter what your background or economic circumstances." It takes teamwork, cooperation, optimism, and skills to make it through life. It may sound harsh, but for most people, they have to fraud their way through life to get that promotion they want, or to get their dream job. "But unfortunately, that access often remains out of reach for those who need it most, as access to arts education and creative thought is undervalued and unevenly and unfairly distributed nationwide."
