Praise and Worship is all about connecting with God. (William Temple.1881) Worship is the submission of all our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by his holiness; the nourishment of mind with his truth, the purifying of imagination by his beauty, the opening of the heart to his love, the surrender of his will to his purpose and all of this gathered up in adoration, the most selfless emotion of which our nature is capable and therefore the chief remedy for that self-centeredness which is our original sin and the source of all actual sin. From the bible, in the book of Genesis, it talked about how God created men, (Adam and Eve) in his image. But they had disobeyed him, as a result they have disconnected from God. He is longing to have a relationship with each and every one of us. God himself is the reason why we do worship and it is about encountering God and his presence.
The bible tells us that God is holy and worthy to be praise. (Leviticus19:2) Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, you shall be holy, for I the lord your God am holy. I believe that is when Praise and Worship comes in. The role of music has played a part in the worship of the church for centuries and still is today. A lot of different churches have different styles of worship. Worship spectrum simply refers to the different views on the Church worship such as Contemporary music-driven worship. The bible tells us how people worship God in the Old Testament has different from the New Testament and how Jesus came to this world and it began to change that way we worship. Both old and new testament showed us that Worship involves our heart, mind, soul, and strength too.
