1. Consider the rich spiritual suggestion in Genesis 1:3, where light was the first thing created by God. Reflect to the importance given to light in this account. How important is light in your life today?
Personally, I think the main reason why light was the first thing ever created because it what brings beauty to all other creations because without Light, there is only darkness. Light, for me, also symbolizes the Word of God that is what made everything, including the creation possible. The Light or the Word of God in my life today is significant for it’s what guides me to which path I must take or what actions and decisions must I do. Without this Light, I’m not sure what would become of me.
2. Read Psalm 8. Compare it with Genesis 1 and 2. How can humans acknowledge and appreciate God?
Humans can appreciate and acknowledge God by praising and worshiping Him for all the good things He has done. We could also so this by taking care of His creation, for we are the appointed steward of it.
3. What is the place of rest and worship in your life? Has the youth of today lost these values?
The place of rest and worship in my life is whenever and wherever I’m praying or communicating to God. Unfortunately, some people already lost this value because of their lack of knowledge about their faith. But looking closely, it is not really too late yet to inject these values to others.
4. What are the “serpents” enticing you to become unfaithful to God and others today?
The serpents that are enticing me and others to become unfaithful with God are material things, the future and the pressure of society. Material or earthly things are essential to us while we are still living but sometimes we tend to forget that there are far more important things to look forward to and it is the heavenly gifts. I also consider my future or my studies as a serpent that entices me because it hinders me to fully give my attention to our Church and serving.
