Theory on Communication From the time when we are very young our parents talk to us in a manner that is usually joyful, amusing, intelligent, and comforting. When we need to be disciplined our parents tone changes in a manner that we automatically know when we did, or said something wrong. Parents and other adults are the key motivators to perform speaking techniques well, and correctly. My theory is,parents teach us speaking techniques along with manners that have been passed down to them from generation to generation. First, as a young child parents have to be careful of what they say around young children. Young children have a really absorbing memory when it comes to things, words, places, pictures etc. This is the most crucial time to properly teach a child the communication skillsneeded to surpass shyness, short talk, and to gain adequate communication skills in order to keep a conversation going and not be shy or short talked. Second, bringing your child with you where ever you go is probably the best communication technique of them all. Because, as your child goes out in public with you they tend to follow in your footsteps and copy the things you do. As you (parent) are talking with people outside of your normal element the child sees that it is ok to do the same. Don’t get me wrong the child will be shy and a little quiet at first but sooner or later the child will get this comfortable feelingand not have a hesitation to communicate. Your child will be able to go out into public with you and you (parent) do not have to worry about your child having trouble interacting with people. Ex. My parents lived in a community that’s population was about five thousand. Twenty two years ago my father was elected onto the city council of our small city, and thirteen years ago my parents bought into a bar business.
