The starting part of the film showed Jamie as an arrogant, spoiled, eleven-year-old kid. He had almost everything wanted and wouldn’t listen to anyone, but his parents. This camp is something Jamie has never seen before. He had to learn how to survive on his own because he has never experienced something like this before. He has become humbler for people in his camp even though he needed to take care of himself too. He has matured so much learning not to be his spoiled, bratty, and privileged young self. After much time has passed, there is no one at the camp and it is only Jamie there. The people who were originally in the cap have all left because it was no longer safe there anymore. Jamie had gone with them in the beginning, but came back because it was the only home he knows. He has lived there for three years and can’t even remember his parents faces and decided to come back to where he remembers. When back at the camp he rummages around and finds all the food can eat. He is very hungry because of all the walking he has done and is trying to eat as much as he can. Jamie starts to mess around during the camp, by riding his bike all around the place. First, he rode the bike around the kitchen like he did in the beginning of the movie. He then rode it outside where one of the soldiers stopped him. Jamie had to stop his bike right in front of the soldier looking like he was in trouble. When Jamie looks up he said, “I surrender”. When Jamie said this, it felt like he had more of a reason to say it. He was messing around in the camp
