Conflict is an inevitable part of human existence. Whenever two or more people interact with each other, there exists a potential for conflict. Conflict arises from a clash of ideas, power- hungry people and individual differences. Struggle for power occurs everywhere, ranging from a school yard to a war ground. The outcomes of struggle however depend on the coping skills, personal qualities and the values and beliefs of the individual. In a situation of extreme conflict, the individual is put to a test where he is required to be resilient and calm so that he can smoothly survive such a dangerous circumstance. The true test of one’s character is not based on what conflict they face, but how the individual deals with the conflict.…
Within the chapter, Ellens adamantly presents a recurring theme involving the importance of recognizing and understanding the functionality of psychology and spirituality as they pertain to the operation of the human spirit (Ellens , "The Unfolding Christian Self", 1992). It is his belief that one’s psychological development and spiritual growth are intrinsically connected, consequently presenting us with the dyad of the unfolding Christian, the duality being the unpredictable growth of the spirit and the predictable patterns of psychological development (Ellens , "The Unfolding Christian Self", 1992). In the interest of further delving deeper into this matters, Ellens briefly analyzed the works of Jean Piaget, via Margaret Krych, Erik Erikson, Lawrence Kohlberg, James W. Fowler, and Robert C. Fuller. Upon the conclusion of his transitory assessment of the Fowler’s work, Ellens transitioned an in-depth…

According to Thomas Hobbes, in the state of nature every human being acts in a way to maximize their satisfaction with disregard to the self-interest of others. The state of nature is a state of war where everyone must fend for his or herself and all are against all. No one has any sort of moral obligation to anything else except to maximize one’s own satisfaction. Although the goal is to maximize satisfaction over time, the constant threat of war or someone plotting against you to get what they want does not allow the full enjoyment of life. Hobbes concludes that the second law of nature would allow mankind to get more satisfaction over time.…

A few words that define me are crazy, independent, loving, and caring but sometimes I have my insecurities. I feel as though everybody have those moments especially girls because there’s always that one Barbie we would like to be like. But that’s just another internal conflict that has to be fought. Me on the other think of it like this: we like drop of rain falling into the ocean, even though it’s small it something wasn’t there before. That’s kind of like being yourself in a world full of people, if you be yourself that’s one unique thing the world didn’t have before. Instead of being something the world has plenty of.…

Procrastination and typing are two challenges that concern me the most about my online learning. I sometimes important things off until last minute typically because I get busy doing other things and forget about them .I usually think about them at the last minute and try to hurry to get things done. Since I have begun my online learning I have tried to stay on top of things instead of waiting until the last minute to get it done as I normally would. I feel that I am a strong willed and I can get anything done that I set my mind to do. I have planned a certain time each day to study and do homework to keep from getting behind. I will seek help from my professor, counsler, and online resources as I need to become successful at Ashford. Typing is not a huge concern to me as I have been practicing every day to get better at typing. I also found resources online to aid me in typing as well. I will continue to practice each day and use the resources I have found to progress my skills.…

Within the Buddhist teachings comes The Four Noble Truths. The first is the truth of suffering, the second is the origin of suffering, the third is the cessation of suffering, and the fourth is the path to the cessation of suffering. The second Noble Truth identifies the origin of suffering or Samudaya which is desire. Through the third Noble Truth, the Buddha teaches a way to end the desire that causes suffering. The fourth Noble Truth comes in the form of the Eightfold path, which leads to the end of suffering. The Eightfold…
