Hi!
My name is Olive; I’m fourteen years old and am currently studying for my GCSEs at Treviglas Community College, Newquay. As a regular reader of SurfGirl’s online posts, I would like to ask you to consider having me in a voluntary work experience placement for the week beginning Monday 30th June 2014.
I am an avid blogger, wannabe journalist and surfer in training, and as I have been considering pursuing a career down the lines of journalism I think that being granted the opportunity of working on a magazine such as SurfGirl would really benefit me and my career choices – working with you would give me an insight into the journalism industry and if it would actually be something I would enjoy.
I believe myself to be a hard-working, independent girl who is passionate about surfing, and, most importantly, writing. (I’ve also had some experience working in cafés, and would just like to mention that I can brew the perfect cup of tea, if that helps.)
The work experience scheme is not required to be completed by law this year, but my school has opted to request that all year tens must complete a week of voluntary work, and therefore I really hope that this week would be spent with you. I think that tis is a wonderful opportunity and would be extremely grateful to compete this week with you as it would benefit me (and possibly you) greatly.
Many thanks,
