Thomas Pain: Causes Of The American Revolution
Causes of the American Revolution

There are a lot of causes for the American Revolution, but three cause stand out. One cause was an as small as a book written by Thomas Pain. Thomas Paine was an English American, philosopher, a revolutionary, and a Founding Father; he wrote a book called Common Sense that got people thinking. Another reason is all the acts that Great Britain was giving the colonials. The colonials felt like they were weren’t being treated fairly. The last cause, but not the least, is the end of the Anglo-French imperial competition, which is link in with the French and Indian war and the Treaty of Paris. The Anglo-French imperial competition end lay out the ground work for the Revolution.

The Anglo-French imperial competition, help lay out the ground work, but to understand how you have to look at the French and Indian war. The war was a fight for land in America between the French and Great Britain. The battles started when Great Britain wanted Ohio and

This book gave people questions about authority. The logic in the book got people to think about everything that’s going on. The books talk about how England is the mother and the colonies were children, which made sense until you realized that a mother never treats her child like the way the British are treating them. Then it talks about how an island is trying to rule all this land across a vast ocean, when they can do it themselves. The book brought reason to the people’s eyes and brought them one step closer to the American Revolution.

A book help start the revolution along with a tight hand that the English gave the colonies. Of course there are more reasons, but there are three main reasons. The Revolution eventually happened and gave us Freedom from the British, two years later we would have our first congress meeting and we got our first president 10 years after that. We are a free country, because of the

The American Revolution was very attention-grabbing to me. The American patriots and the British chose to fight for land. They really wanted to rule the New World! I couldn’t believe that the Americans was having trouble fighting that war. When Thomas Paine wrote the American Crisis book it perhaps enlightened the Americans. Barnet Schechter said “This was really the low point for the Americans, Washington’s reputation was at stake. So it was really doing or die”. I feel that it gives Washington the feeling that he had to take control and find a means to win the combat. To me when he decided to go back to New York in the blizzard I said to myself this man foolish. Outside was too cold to fight a war or even stand. Bruce Chadwick…

The American Revolution began in 1775 as open conflict between the united thirteen colonies and Great Britain. By the Treaty of Paris that ended the war in 1783, the colonies had won their independence. While no one event can be pointed to as the actual cause of the revolution, the war began as a disagreement over the way in which Great Britain treated the colonies versus the way the colonies felt they should be treated. Americans felt they deserved all the rights of Englishmen. The British, on the other hand, felt that the colonies were created to be used in the way that best suited the crown and parliament. This conflict is embodied in one of the rallying cries of the American Revolution: No Taxation Without Representation.…

One of the main reasons for the revolution was money. Britain was involved heavily in the French and Indian War, on the Native American side. When the Native Americans, and through that, the British, won the war, the British government saw this as an American war. This meant that since Britain said that the colonies fought the war, they should pay for it. The colonies received large tax boosts to cover the cost…

Americans wanted their own freedom from British Parliamentary rule, which was the main cause of the American Revolution. The two main contributors to the American Revolution are arguably both political and economic. The harsh and unfair British Parliamentary laws restricted the colonists from having their freedom by imposing drastic measures on the colonists. The economic side is that the British force ridiculous taxes on the colonists and used the colonies to make a profit for themselves. I disagree that the main cause of the American Revolution was economic conflict because the colonists wanted freedom, which was their main motivation, and economic conflict was a contributor to the action taken by the colonists. Freedom, harsh Parliamentary…

A1. The causes of the American Revolution were imposed taxes, taxation without representation, and the King implementing the Intolerable act. After the French and Indian War the British government lost a lot of money. So their way of collecting money was to impose taxes on the American colonists. These taxes included a tea tax, which was a tax on tea that was imported to America. With no representation in Britain the American colonist did not have a say in these taxes on goods, which had always been free to them. So they began boycotting these goods. When boycotting these goods the King decided to implement the Intolerable Act, which shut down the Boston harbor and prevented any goods from coming in and out of the harbor. The demands of freedom from Great Britain by the American colonies inspired two crucial literary movements beginning with the Age of Reason. Many authors of this literary movement embraced principles of reason to explain why the colonies were powerful enough to break away from the mother country. These authors explained to their readers that colonies that were economically and politically independent should not be controlled by an inferior body of government over 3,000 miles away. Emotions from these works eventually led to America’s victory in the Revolution, and a spirit of optimism and hope for the future. Along with the repercussions of the Industrial Revolution, a period of economic prosperity, the American Revolution grew the United States…

To begin with I will be going over the causes of the war that include acts, taxes and the economy's effect on the start of the revolutionary war.One of the biggest causes of the start of the american revolution was the increasing taxes from the British parliament, without their permission. “King George III lost a great deal of money due to buying expensive supplies for his army and the colonies. In order to pay off his debt, he imposed taxes on the colonies without their consent.” (Revolutionary-war.net,) This quote explains how the king began to tax the colonists so that he could pay of his war debt.…

With all sorts of people coming into their colonies, England started to become very nervous about colonial government. Restrictions began to be emplaced on them with little effect. Laws and restriction just seemed to aggravate the colonists. They were being taxed increasingly without representation, without protection, and with abuse of their “God given rights” to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. By the end of the French and Indian War and the end of events such as the Boston Massacre and Tea Party the nation was in open rebellion and flagrantly exposing their dislike for England. The Revolution was just around the corner.…
