Many aspects are used to determine if a community is a civilization. Three of the most important ones are government, economy, and technology. Without technology people would not get better at farming, building, etc. Without government people would not be able to work together. Without economy, nobody would be able to get what they needed to survive. Government is really important. The Vikings had a government where everyone got together and voted. These meeting were led by chiefs or kings. At the meeting people who broke laws could be punished and new laws could be created. In order for people to get the tools and other supplies that they need, people needed to have good economy. In order for a blacksmith to get food they would have to sell or trade with a farmer. In order for a farmer to get the tools they needed, they would have to trade with a blacksmith. A lot of Vikings stole coins and valuable metals raiding. Without economy all of their raiding would be useless and the Vikings that raided would not be able to trade for food. Egyptians used their economy to trade food for equipment for their armies, iron, copper, cattle, horses, and other important items. Chinese people used their economy to get iron tools that let them farm better. They were also able to build temples and fight wars. Without economy communities would not have the supplies to survive.
Government, economy, and technology are all aspect that make a community a civilization. Without Government there is no organization. Without technology a community can not get any better or grow enough food. Without economy you can not have soldiers to defend you or necessary trades like blacksmiths. Civilizations need these three
