Throughout American History there have been many powerful dictators. Two men that stand out very distinctly are Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler. These two men from two different places, from two different families, who grew up two different ways, turned out to be the same. Hitler and Stalin both rose to the highest attainable position in their country.
Hitler’s ideology was Nazi based, or National Socialistic. Natzism is an ideology that recieved its practical political form in the regime that governed Germany from 1933-1945. Nazism is another form of totalitarian ideology, fascism. Stalin on the other hand was a Marxist (Ellis, Esler 542). Marxist ideology merits the most attention in understanding the events of his life.
