People started to come in, some thought I was in line and others thought I was waiting for my order, I ended up being surrounded. I was really confused and the other people as well. The cashier finally asked for the next customer which I thought was me. In this case, I went up to him, he first glared at me and then asked the guy standing behind me to come up. I was really confused so I decided to let the man go, but he was even more confused
because he came after me, so he turned around and asked me if I was in line. I told him that it was fine he could go.
As I said that, he reached ahead and gave his order. I was waiting behind and a few moments later the guy turns around and asks me what I was going to order. So I told him “Green tea.” It took me a moment to realize why he had ask me that. I then asked him if he was going to pay for me and he said “Yes, don’t worry about it.” Although I was genuinely happy at his offer, I told him that it was okay, I certainly did not mind if he ordered his meal first, infact he did not have to do such a generous act of kindness but he insisted.
He gave me a warm smile and I thanked him way too many times. I noticed his bags filled with gifts, for his kids, I had assumed. Until this day, I still do not know who they were for, but they made me realize that people can spend as much money as they want to make someone happy, but unexpected kindness will never have a price, and if Christmas time makes people happier and kinder, than embrace it while it lasts.
