The reason I say this is because for the vast majority of the movie you don't even know what it is, I found myself wondering if it was a horror or a drama or just a sob story. The enigma's present such as the viewer not knowing if there is a supernatural presence or not are forever present which is why the enigma code can be used to explain Lake Mungo. The curtural code is also present within Lake Mungo as there is a lot of things we recognize such as paranormal happening and pictures and the whole concept of someone tormenting people and "haunting" after death. Action code is also present with the scenes where Ray is making both Alice and her mother walk through the house in their heads, this action creates suspense as we are wondering what the relevance of this walkthrough is and have a want to find out why it is being shown to …show more content…
This element of creepiness is helped and strengthened greatly by the found footage aspect of the film. The film is done very well in a mockumentary found footage style and undoubtedly has a massive amount of pleasures which will greatly interest fans of the found footage genre, the documentary style is very well done and you sort of forget that its a movie and not a documentary, the whole story feels very real as a result of this so the mockumentary found footage style definitely works
