Chapter 4 1. When someone is choosing to take a holiday, the individual’s personality is most likely the biggest motivator for where they want to go and what they want to do on that holiday. If someone if married with children, their ideal holiday might be more relaxed, spending time at a resort on the ocean where you can relax with the family and get a nice suntan. On the other hand, if someone is single and looking for something more adventurous, they might take their holiday to go skydiving or bungee jumping. Also someone might take a holiday to make new friends or even a new partner. This type of person might want to spend their holiday out partying somewhere new, to enjoy more of a social scene. 2. I think that it is true to say that younger people are more likely going to take a holiday to relax, party, dance, and make new friends, elderly people are more likely to prefer a holiday where they enjoy restful activities and sightseeing opportunities, while parents are going to be interested in keeping their kids happy. In the book when it categorizes people by their income and education level and what they want in a holiday, however I think the activities different people want to partake in is based upon what kind of personality they have and what they are interested in, rather than how educated or how much money they have. 3. If someone is going to take a sun, sea, sand, and sex holiday to a Greek island, some possible motivators for a holiday like that might be to escape the reality of everyday life in an office while having a nice peaceful place to relax. Another motivator for a holiday of that sort might be to enjoy time away with a significant other, whether that may be a new couple, or a married couple of ten to twenty years. On the other hand, someone wanting to go on a upmarket cruise around the Caribbean is more likely to be a wealthier individual taking a partner or spouse, or family on this type of
