After a while on the island under Ralph’s rule, the boys get tired of working all day long and decide to join Jack’s tribe. Jack has a contrasting view of life on the island and his tribe just hunts and feasts. They do not even have shelters. Ralph and Piggy are the last to switch over to Jack’s tribe and when they do, all of the boys start chanting the hunting song they made up. “The beast struggled forward, broke the ring and fell over the steep edge of the rock to the sand by the water. At once the crowd surged after it, poured down the rock, leapt on to the beast, screamed, struck, bit, tore” (Goulding 213). After the boys killed Simon, Ralph realized what he did was wrong and he left Jack’s tribe. This shows that bad people can get good people to do evil things, but the person will always be good at heart.…

In my opinion Cole learns that anger is something that you can control if you are willing to and that it takes time to do so. The ways he learned to control it was by performing those daily routines that Garvey and Edwin showed him, which would eventually help him in his recovery. For example in chapter 17 Edwin told Cole “We’re going swimming,” Cole responded “Are you nuts?” this routine was actually soaking in the pond which would later big come a big thing for Cole, helping him relieve his mind and forget about things. At first in the book it did mention that they seemed useless to him, but as time went by he learned the value of them.…

This is about a boy named Cole Matthews. I would like to discuss who this boy is and how he is always in the shadows and doesn’t even see the light anymore. Cole is a beaten down boy who is ill-tempered and thrives on people fearing him. He feeds off of people’s misery, and doesn’t take any blame, probably because he figures nothing is his fault. “Serves him right,” Cole mumbled when they first told him of Peter’s condition.” (Pg.8) Touching Spirit Bear. Cole brutally beat Peter up and 4-6 people had to pry him off, then he spit on Peter. This book is about Cole, because it’s about giving hope to all the children or at least anyone, that even when you get in trouble their will always be someone there to help and support you, and Cole just happens to main character to prove this theory.…

Everything was going great until Jack to asked “Who’s going to join my tribe”(150)? I couldn’t believe it! At first I thought nobody would join him besides his hunters, but I was wrong! The only kids with who decided to stay were the twins Sam and Eric. Shortly after this awkward episode, our attention was turned to noises we heard coming from the bushes. Out came one of the kids on the island covered in blood saying something about a parachute man. All of the hunters were too busy chanting, “Kill the beast! Cut his throat! Spill his blood”(152)! They did not pay attention to who it was they just suddenly pounced on him and started scratching, hitting, and biting him. It was not my fault though, “It was an accident” is what i kept telling Ralph(157). Even ralph said I wasn’t a part of it, he said, “You were outside. Outside the circle. You never really came in”(157). Either way there is nothing we can do about it now, especially since most of the kids have gone off to castle rock with Jack, I can’t wait to go over there with that conch and tell him how things are gonna be. I still have one more story to tell you about what has happened on this stupid…
