Orkin provides separate modules of training for its technicians and management. Both the technician and branch management training procedure have five stages. The stages of training for the technician are as follows:
1) Certified level 1, which is for entry level technicians and consists of 3~6 month.
2) Certified level 2, Cross training begins
3) Certified level 3, sales is focused
4) Senior certified, cross training continues
5) And finally Master certified after receiving the highest level of training offered by the Orkin
The branch management training is a classroom based training procedure which starts with correspondence courses followed by fundamentals of management courses, managing service organization courses, sales management courses leading to Management development school. The following are some of the modules of training offered along the way that makes Orkin a standout in the training segment:
Simulation training: To simulate how the real life scenario will be, Orkin has a multimillion dollar project in the Atlanta which is called Orkin University & Training Centre which was a one of a kind facility when it came around. The facility has mock hotel room, restaurant kitchen, hospital room, bar, food storage warehouse, food retail aisle, rooftop air ducts and other “real-world” settings to allows the trainees to have an on hand experience of the real life scenario. This is done so they can cope better at the work.
Virtual training: Orkin has an interactive satellite communication network (Rollins Global Network) which creates a virtual classroom and allows 8,000 Orkin employees to receive in-depth training across the country and get their knowledge base updated to better serve in the field.
