NGO Resource Centre (A Project of Aga Khan Foundation)
The NGO Resource Centre (NGORC) is a project of Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) aims to implement the AKF NGO Enhancement strategy. The Aga Khan Foundation is a non-denominational, international development agency established in1967 by His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan. NGORC is a non-funding support organization that aims to create an enabling environment for NGOs to function effectively. It builds the capacity of NGOs and Community Based Non-Governmental Organizations (CBNGOs) through Consultancy, Training, Networking and Information. NGORC believes that social development is best achieved with a spirit of self-help. The projects and programs consistently seek to affirm the spirit. Over the past 14 years NGORC has gained recognition as a key support organization for the citizen sector in Pakistan.
There are 9 Female and 20 Males, total 29 employees working under the umbrella of NGORC.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
I was working as Training & Development Coordinator in the Organization from 2001 to 2004. I had several responsibilities:
• Conducting Orientation of the newly induct employees.
• Design and assist training programs for NGORC Partners and YDPFP (Young Development Professionals Program) which includes:
Develop the Training Modules
Arrange facilitators for the training programs and courses
Logistics Arrangements
Dispatch invitation/ confirmation of training programs to NGOs, INGOs and CBOs
Evaluation of the workshop and feed data (flip chart, cards, lecture, handout and notes) for reports and NTFs (Note for File)
• Indentify and assess NGOs for long term institutional strengthening through Organizational Development intervention and help partner NGOs develop planning, monitoring and evaluation systems, design and undertake strategic planning exercises, maintain record of Organizational Development (OD) partner’s database.
