Over the summer I worked with my dad and grandpa. I found that learning the ways they get the job done is more valuable than getting it done at all because when the family business gets passed down I can keep it going because they taught me.
Trap shooting is a big part of my life. I find myself setting goals all the time like improving my scores and getting a better mind set. I learned that achieving my goal did me some good, but how I achieved my goals was more

Learning for me started to become a scary movie I did not want to watch. I did not want to see myself get killed by failure and doubt that I would never make it out alive. Malcolm X in “Saved” talks about how he had to teach himself how to be educated in prison and how he succeeded at teaching himself to read and write. this took a lot of ambition hard work and commitment to want to succeed. Perri Klass, in her essay “Ambition,“ talks about these same qualities, how ambition is working hard and following your dreams. “Do your job.” A simple quote by Bill Belichick (New England Patriots Head Football Coach) but this quote means a lot about my character. The reason it means a lot to me is because if you work tremendously hard and do your job your team will be successful. My head football coach, Mike Rowe uses this quote as well and adds “If everybody does your job you will be successful. Trust your teammates since they will fight for you and the rest of the team.” I am tying this quote to football but it can be used in any team sport you are involved in. Football teaches character and that’s why I love it so much. I’ve learned so much about myself and how I want to live my life just from being in football.…
