Lyme disease can be treated with antibiotic, but is most effective in the early stages of the disease. As Lyme disease progress over time it tends to take the form of similar diseases. the cost of treatment is very expensive. In the research I have done the average cost of one treatment is approximately 2000 dollars. Insurance companies wont pay for these treats more than because there isn't much evidence that Lyme disease persist after one treatment. This is sad because according to medical professionals it

The three legs of the medical stool are costs, access and quality. There are many factors when some hospitals or health care in general would trade-off in these areas depending on the status of the patient, insurance and the situation. I feel that the one that is neglected the most is costs, this is why the GDP in healthcare is higher than any other contributor in the world. I believe that if the cost of insurance, procedures and medications were at a better rate or more affordable that a lot of people including the world wouldn’t have a high debt amount from hospital or healthcare bills. The downfall to that is the doctors want to get paid, so depending on what is done this can either effect the patient or the doctor. If the doctor gets impacted moneywise then this can typically lead to the lack of care for their patients. This isn’t always the case but at the end of the day there is no such thing as a free lunch.…

The client should look for the early signs of localized Lyme disease known as erythema migrans, a skin lesion that slowly expands to form a large round lesion with a bright red border and clear center (B) at the site of the tick bite. A tick should be removed with tweezers by pulling straight from its insertion away from the skin, and not compressing its body or covering it with oil (A). Lyme disease is caused by the spirochete, Borrelia burgdorferi, which is transmitted by the bite of an infected deer tick, and antiviral agents (D) are ineffective. Symptoms, such as fever, chills, headache, stiff neck, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes are more typical, not nausea and vomiting (C). Category: Community Health…

When we look at the history of health care economics we can clearly see that we have come a long way since that house call from the doctor to our ‘little house on the prairie’ days. We are no longer a small population of townspeople needing a teaspoon of medicine from the bottle, out of the doctor’s black bag, that seems to be a cure for almost any illness. We are now a nation of millions and we have numerous doctors, nurses, technicians and many other healthcare professionals to choose from. We have access to many health care services that provide us with many levels of care, and we have advanced in medical technology. These advances in health care have not come without their toll on the economy; the health care industry has become a trillion dollar empire. The reason for this is people value their health above most other things and are willing to spend their money to stay healthy.…

That being said many observers; believe the reason healthcare has become so unaffordable because of the new drug developments as well as the need for new medical technology. “Others say healthcare is to expensive due to, administrative cost, marketing and profits, which account for 22 to 31 percent of the U.S.” (Haaland, R. 2007).
