1) Principal expertise. One of the strengths of the company is the fact that we have physicians with expertise in the field, in the state, there are only 2 main providers for this type of service. Also, with this we have certain physicians and providers in the practice that perform specialties, for example, supportive care, which includes symptom management for patient, pain management, alternative therapies such as acupuncture and holistic health procedures. These make a patients experience better and provide a better quality of life. Since we have providers that help support this that give the company as a whole strength and growth potential in providing better services and therapy. This has been consistence for employees not taking accountability for their actions and trying to shift job tasks and responsibilities to other departments or staff. This becomes a weakness because time and resources are being used to train instead of furthering work tasks and responsibilities.
2) High costs for chemotherapy and treatments: A weakness in the oncology field is the high costs for purchase and reimbursement of chemotherapy and other treatments. Insurance companies have significantly cut back on the amount they will reimburse for treatments, which in some cases, leaves us not collecting what was paid for the medications. This has become quite the challenge to insure we are being reimbursed enough for the therapies that have been prescribed for our patients by the physicians.

This could be helpful with having more employees able to complete daily tasks along with job satisfaction from the employee. This would have to be managed within the scope of the license, depending on the job duties and license requirements. We could also consider moving job tasks to another department who is less productive to give additional time to the employees that have too much work to be able to complete. Cross training not only promotes self-reliance among employees but leads to having more staff to pull from for the company as a whole, the more people who know job tasks the

Cross training would help to prevent job burnout, since the employee could change the job that he is doing often. It is also very beneficial to the company to have cross trained employees, as when an employee is sick or injured; another would know how to do the job. This could also save on costs as there would be no need for temporary workers to fill jobs.…

The organization that I have chosen to do my SWOT analysis on is the New Orleans Saints football team. They are among the most successful teams of this decade but not ranked very high as far as most lucrative organizations in the National Football League. They are currently ranked 23rd among the 30 active teams in the national football league. The organization was formed and became a professional football team in 1967. The team got its nickname due to its founding being on All Saints Day on November 1, 1967. The team initially one of the weaker franchises in the league. It didn’t win many games and struggled to sell out games. They have won one Super Bowl title, 5 Division Championships, and made only 9 playoff appearances in its 46 year existence. The ultimate goal of this organization is to win football games and generate revenue by selling tickets and merchandise.…

While the use of EHRs does promise lower cost and better access, the problem that many institutions are having is that in order to become compliant, health care organizations must overhaul their IT infrastructures (Ficery, 2011). Currently, 50% of US hospitals are at risk of incurring penalties due to none compliance (Ficery, 2011). Although ADP (Automatic Data Processing) is one of the leading providers of business outsourcing solutions, it has weaknesses that negatively affect the company. One significant aspect of ADP is that the company has clients in many foreign countries, but less than only 20% of ADP’s revenues come from other regions of the world. The company has been majorly focusing on customers’ needs here in the US, keeping their clients up to date with the current laws and regulations (their HR department) and making payroll processing convenient. What they lack, though, is a diversified geographic. It’s important to concentrate on the US operations, but other countries have specific issues that may need to be handled differently. If ADP wants to expand and take full advantage of their services, they ought to pay more attention to their geographic diversification.…

The major problem concerns the mergers between hospitals in the wake of the enactment of the Affordable Care Act (also known as the Obamacare). This is a problem because it is highly likely that these mergers will hike the costs of providing healthcare, something that the Obamacare legislation sought to address in the first place. It’s also problematic because the mergers may lead to the creation of monopolies or duopolies which tend to raise prices. That is the reason that the federal trade commission is looking into possible mergers because it deals with monopolies. Overall, high costs of healthcare would be negative, mostly for people with lower income.…

But with that will come some big costs. The IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics expects cancer treatment costs to hit $150 billion by 2020, up from $107 billion in 2015. The “Cancer Business” has become so big that large companies are dedicated to developing cancer treatments with price control often taking a backseat. For example, pharmaceutical giant Novartis just split out its oncology business into a separate branch from its other disease areas. Cancer is a complicated disease that requires a whole web of decision-making, which ultimately leads to higher costs of cancer treatment. (Ramsey, 2016)…

Issues/BackgroundShouldice Hospital limited was started in 1940 by Dr. Earle Shouldice for treating Hernia. The method of surgery adopted by Shouldice Hospital was unique in a sense that it introduced the concept of flow shop in carrying out surgeries alongwith simplicity in surgery. Because of this uniqueness and simplicity, the demand for surgeries at Shouldice increased and Shouldice has reached a point where it has to increase its capacity to reduce the wait times being faced by the patients. Presently, the hospital performs, on an average, 30 to 36 operations per day. The challenge is to devise a way of increasing the hospital capacity while maintaining the same quality standards, the role of government in the operations of the hospital and unauthorised use of Shouldice brand name by potential competitors. Assumptions:We have assumed that at all times ratio of patients coming from outside and local patients remain at 70:30 and surgeries has to be carried out maintaining the ratio.Analysis:Shouldice is already evaluating some options to increase the capacity of the hospital.
