Treta Yuga Analysis
Vishnu 1 This myth describes life as a continuously repetitive cycle. What aspects of life support such a view? In some of our worlds it was about Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. We had the first stage of life beginning with Adam and Eve, they were given everything they wanted, and they did not have to work or do anything. Everything was provided for them until Eve ate an apple from the forbidden tree and convinced Adam to do the same. Then there was shame and guilt. We had to pay for those sins and so we then go through the second stage. Now we have to work hard for what we need and want. Building our own homes, providing our families with food and clothing and all the essentials, similar to the Treta Yuga cycle. The third stage …show more content…
We all still have to work for a living and provide for our families and our selves, Some of the people are greedy and selfish, and the rich still live in a class of their own taking care of themselves, but some are trying to make a difference with the poor. Some of the rich are not happy with what they have and want more. Some of the poor are tired of being poor and want more. Our morals are not quite as strong as they use to be. Maybe it is because we have such a diverse culture that we are forgetting all our morals and unsure of what is true or not. We seem to be suffering more and poverty is causing destruction in ourselves. Is there a Depression coming? Who knows, but I hope we all remember to help one …show more content…
Like in the case of Rama and Sita, and how Rama dealt with her faithfulness after she was kidnapped by Ravana. Sita had to prove she still had her virtue. I know it was to prove to the people so that they would not question her virtue was stained. Yet when later the people of his kingdom questioned it he was too weak to defend her instead he sent her away giving birth to his two sons. We have the freedom of making better choices and living our lives according to what is right and not based on what other people think of feel. I believe in love, respect and the pursuit of happiness. I also believe we must love and protect our families with trust and respect for one another. No one should take that

In Tikki Tikki Tembo retold by Arlene Mosel in 1968 the author identifies relationships and the value of equality and love in a family. Many years ago, children were not shown affection equally in Chinese families; the first child was always honored with a long meaningful name while the other children were given short distasteful ones. In this specific story set in the olden days, one of two sons isn't treated lovingly by his mother. Moments where the mother perceives the second son Chang a "bad omen" and the first a gift, Tikki tikki tembo no sa rembo-chari bari ruchi-pip peri pembo, show the inequality in the family. This was the life for many people during the great depression when war had consumed most of all humanity and left the survivors to start over again from scratch. People were left without the basic means of survival, disease and illness took many lives because health care was unaffordable, and even education for children was considered a privilege for only the richer children. Many of the richer people were selfish and locked their doors up tight and employed very few workers at demeaning wages as to fatten their pockets and not have to pay out too much for labor costs. Handouts were almost unheard of among the communities because there was simply…

Many of the problems now and in time have been the product of someone stereotyping someone else for being “different” than they are. It can be based off the pigmentation of one’s skin, the religious differences between people, but more often than not, it is because of the class a person falls into economically. Class is a system that distinguishes people by the amount of money a person makes, or that is what class is supposed to be. We often see the upper-class portrayed as educated, clean, and powerful people as opposed to the lower-class who are seen as dirty, lazy, and powerless individuals. The way the media stereotypes the economic classes makes a class seem like a culture instead of an economic standing. In many cases, us individuals allow those stereotypes to become who we are.…

The wealth in the United States is not equal, and is most all at the top of the social stratification ladder. The biggest changes in the class system is that poverty is increasing, the middle class is shrinking, and the rich are getting richer. The years since 1973 have been known as the Age of Growing Inequality. Moving into a post-industrial society now in the 21st century has caused for an even great growth in inequality. Globalization has caused companies to outsource work, lay workers in factories off because of the new technologies being used, and cause a larger wealth…

“You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.” (John 12:8 from the New Living Translation). Even Jesus Christ said that the poor will always live among us, and that poverty will always be an issue in our society. One of the stated goals of the Canadian Government was to end child poverty in Canada by the year 2000. It is now 2010 and this goal has still not been met. From my limited research on poverty I have come to believe that this social change will not be possible in the near future. Expenses in our society, behaviour problems and welfare all keep the ones that are in poverty, in poverty.…

Poverty still exists in many places, just as it did in Oliver Twist. “22% of all children live in families that are in poverty in the modern day world”. That shows how many children are still living in derelict living situations. Also, poverty can be near you. Types of poverty is low income, homelessness, and hunger. “Over population can cause poverty from too many people with too little resources”. This occurs frequently since every 5 seconds a new baby is born. That shows of how more and more children are increasing the rates of having a family that is in poverty. Poverty affects many people’s lives and changes them.…
