Twilight Book Review
Book Review: Twilight 22nd October 2010

The book I am going to review today is ‘Twilight’ by Stephanie Meyer. Published in 2005, this book has sold over 1 million copies worldwide and has become hugely popular throughout all generations, especially teenage girls.
Twilight is the story of Edward and Bella’s romance. Forget any vampire romance you have read before, Twilight is so unique it is almost like it’s in its own genre. The book is marketed at Young Adult readers but it has the ability to cross age barriers and will satisfy both teenagers and adults alike.
When seventeen year-old Bella Swan leaves sunny Arizona to live with her father in the small and gloomy Pacific North-West town of Forks she doesn’t expect to like it. After all she has made excuses not to go there enough times over the past few years. If living in Forks, with its constant mist and rain, wasn’t bad enough she will have to make a whole new set of friends and settle into a new school.
Bella soon makes some new friends at school but when she sees a boy called Edward Cullen sitting with his brothers and sisters in the cafeteria she is instantly intrigued. Edward is stunningly attractive, almost inhumanly beautiful, and yet he is an outsider too. Although Edward and his family have lived in Forks for two years they have never really been accepted by the townsfolk and Bella just can’t seem to understand why.
At first Edward is aloof, sometimes it almost seems like he can’t stand to be in the same room as her, but eventually they strike up an unlikely and unsuspected friendship. Even as Bella falls hopelessly and irrevocably in love with Edward, she still can’t work out exactly what makes him so different to everyone else.
On a trip to the beach, Bella is told of the local legend about the “cold ones” as Edwards family is called, a group of blood drinkers who have sworn off hunting humans but are still not welcome on Indian land

The attention always needed to be on you. You of all people should congratulate me for killing Edward, he was a unfaithful backstabber. Well...Edward is dead...that is one task ticked. My needs both then and now - meant nothing to you. I realised - and what a shock it was - that I would always be below you. Tragically, you, of all people let me down: you betrayed me; you treated me as a fool; you my love broke my heart! Well, of course I became malicious, and now I don't have to look at you ever again... perfect. (She sits with her knees together, trying to control an uncontrollable trembling.) (Her lips curled into an unpleasant sneer) (Her eyes glisten with tears which she blinks away) (her nose wrinkles in disgust) Oh yes you loved him(Sarcastically) (She speaks more rapidly)…

He struggled to fit in the town, which is why he stayed in the mansion the whole time. Luckily, Peg comes along and brings Edward into the town and creates a strong bond between them. Edward learns from her and begins helping the community to gain acceptance and build trust. I personally saw when Edward was alone he was always in a dark spot covered by the light and when Peg was alone she was always shining bright. The movie used a lot of color blends and bright aesthetics to show how it would feel to live in a place like…

Because he spends almost his entire life observing others rather than interacting with them, it is doubtful that Charlie realizes very much about himself. This is why he is able to have such incredible depth as a freshman in high school, pondering things such as the idea of property after having seen a girl wearing her boyfriend's letterman's jacket. He questions many things, such as mathematics, though his teacher eventually tells him to stop asking "why?" and to simply memorize the formulas--which he does, resulting in his earning an A in the class. If the droolingly awaited big-screen version of Twilight is any indication, sanpaku eyes are the new cheekbones. Marilyn Monroe and JFK both had sexy sanpakus (in which the white of the orb is strikingly visible below the iris), and so does Robert Pattinson, the young British heartthrob who plays Edward Cullen, Twilight's dreamy, sculpted hunk of a teenage vampire. With pasty skin, red lips, and those peepers that pop open wide with a touch of madness, Pattinson has a look so broodingly unearthly it's no wonder he doesn't sprout fangs. His creepy bedroom stare is a special effect all its own.…
