Tyler Durden's Short Story: Space Monkeys
I woke up tied down to a chair by Tyler Durden. I asked him “What are you going to get by doing all of this Tyler?” He responded by saying “With destruction brings change and your death will be an example for my space monkeys to look up to. It’ll show that I would even die for the completion of Project Mayhem.” The support group and Marla showed up to my rescue, but Tyler was gone. I was untied from the chair and I threw the gun on floor. Realizing that this was all Tyler’s plan to use the support group members and Marla as examples too, I screamed “RUN this building is going to blow any minute.” Everyone was freaking out and I just accepted our fate because there was no time. No explosions went off because Marla realized that Tyler must have used paraffin. …show more content…
I picked the gun up and shot myself as a reminder that I am myself and not Tyler. After I shot myself, I thought Tyler Durden was gone forever. Shortly after, the police came and I told them about everything that happened to me and what Tyler did. They did not believe what I told them and responded by saying “Ok sir, we’ll move onto phase two of the plan now.” Although Tyler Durden was thought to be gone, Project Mayhem lived on through his “space monkeys.” The police left nowhere to be seen. I was wondering to myself ,“What is phase two of the plan?” The support group left shortly after and it was only Marla and I alone. Although Marla knew the differences between Tyler and I, she did not know the whole story. Marla and I were alone at last and I told her that I love her and that everything is going to be ok. She cared about me more than herself because I was the one that gave her hope again. I started my story from the very first time I met Tyler Durden. The first time I met Tyler was when I fell asleep on a nude beach. Tyler had different qualities that I was

In this case may have been an extreme condition. Tyler Durdnt was a completely different person, with a completely different identity. The people around him knew him as himself and as Tyler Durdnt even though he did not know him and Tyler were the same person. Individuals he would meet would ask him if he knew Tyler Durdnt. Apparently, when he was Tyler he would tell others not discuss prior events with himself if he was not Tyler. In one scene, Tyler poured acid on his hand and held him at the table while the acid burned his hand. Not knowing he was actually torturing his self. People around him would see these acts of violence he would place upon his self but never told him that he was Tyler. That is how extreme his condition…

My article was about drunken monkeys. Robert Dudley who is a biologist was wondering what caused fruit-eating animals to be attracted to alcohol because he had an alcoholic father. He was working in the Panamanian forest and saw monkeys eating ripe fruit, which contained small amounts of alcohol. He wanted to study the evolution of humans and monkeys attraction to alcohol and fruit. Robert found out that there was a microscopic fungi, called yeast, that turned the naturally occurring sugar in fruit into a chemical known as ethanol, which most people know as alcohol. These fruit-eating animals began to use the scent of (ethanol) alcohol to find ripe fruit. There is a benefit to the alcohol in the fruit. One of the benefits is it protects the…

Delle was described by schoolmates as "real quiet" and known for "acting sad." After coming in to class late that morning, Delle was told to get an admittance slip from the school office. He left the classroom, and returned with a .357 Magnum revolver. Delle walked to the front of the classroom, announced "Miss, I got what I really went for", put the barrel of the firearm in his mouth, and pulled the trigger before his teacher or classmates could react. A girl named Lisa Moore knew Jeremy from the in-school suspension program: "He and I would pass notes back and forth and he would talk about life and stuff," she said. The city that I come from is not a representation of who I am. Pomona, California is known for it’s high crime rights, and all around gang violence. It is troublesome not to fall through the cracks when the temptation is all around my community. Growing accustom to this environment makes it that much easier to fall a victim into this lifestyle. At the age of 15, for the first time in my life, I experienced a retaliation drive by up the street from where I sleep, the place I call home. That night I heard a total of five gunshots, and was later informed the gun shots left two family friends paralyzed. One is now paralyzed from the neck down, and the other from the waist down. The two victims were sisters, and were not the main target. The shots…

I’d rather be talking about anything else in the world right now, but just after I graduated from high school, in June 1978, I picked up a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks, I took him home to my parents' house, where we drank beer and had sex. When he tried to leave, I killed him with a barbell by hitting his head. That night in Ohio, that was one impulsive night. Nothing’s been normal since then. It tainted my whole life. After it happened I thought I’d just try to live as normally as possible and bury it, but things like that don’t stay buried. I didn’t think it would, but it does, it tainted my whole life. I wish I hadn’t done it. At the same time of my first killing, my alcohol consumption became uncontrollable and in January 1979, I dropped out of Ohio State University after only one term due to my drunkenness. Thus, my recently remarried father insisted that I enlist in the Army, and I was sent to Germany. Though my drinking problem persisted and two years later the Army discharged me for alcoholism. Following my discharge I returned home to Ohio where I went through Hicks' decomposing remains, pulverized them with a hammer, and scattered the pieces even more widely in the woods. Later in October 1981 I was arrested for…

I can still remember the sound in my mother’s voice the day she called to tell me that Stacy had been shot. She asked me if I was sitting down. The words that came through the phone were slow and piercing as if a tape recorder had been put on slow play back. Comprehending what was being said to me felt like ten minutes, the longest ten minutes of my life. Stacy had actually been dead for a couple of days before our family was notified because the police did not know who she was. When it appeared on the Austin News my other cousin who lived in Austin saw it but never knew that it was her own family. Out of sheer disbelief and denial I searched online for all the Austin news websites. I came upon Stacy’s picture along with Christopher Chon Scott’s photo the man who shot and killed her. For hours upon hours and days upon days this man’s picture was all I could look at. For months to come this had consumed my life. I read and reread the articles in the papers. I watched the news feed over and over again. I thought of nothing else but her and her killer.…

Everyone knows the famous quote “complacency kills” and in my case, it really could have happened. Last Friday at the tank ramp, we were doing services on the tanks, in order to make sure the pack, or engine, to the tank works properly. One of the last things we had to do with that tank was to start it up and make sure nothing was messed up with it. Obviously there had to be somebody in the driver’s hole in order to start it up, so I jumped in there and waited until I was told to fire it up. And due to my moment of complacency, I decided to get on my phone, which was not the best given decision at that time. After about five minutes or so, I was told to fire it up and as it was in the process of starting, I continued to play on my phone, once again poor decision making. Then all of a sudden I hear someone in the background yelling, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying, then I hear it again much louder someone saying to kill the tank and at that moment I panicked a little bit. The reason the tank had to be shut down was because once I started it up, there was a big fuel…
