You know that feeling where you need to use the toilet so bad and you rush to the bathroom and don’t know if you’re going to make it? That feeling is diarrhea. Diarrhea describes loose, watery feces. It is a common condition that isn’t usually serious. It lasts about two to three days in most cases and can be treated with over the counter medication.
The most common cause of diarrhea is stomach or intestinal flu. If the digestive tract recognizes a substance ingested to be hazardous to the body, it may send the substance through the tract without it really doing its job and absorbing nutrients, which results in diarrhea. Other causes include food poisoning, food allergies, medications, intestinal diseases, alcohol abuse, and diabetes. …show more content…
Symptoms of uncomplicated diarrhea include abdominal cramps, thin, loose, or watery stools, nausea, vomiting, the Sense of urgency to have a bowel movement.
Complicated diarrhea symptoms include weight loss, fever, blood, mucus, or undigested food in the stool, as well as uncomplicated symptoms.
Mild cases of diarrhea can be treated by themselves. Over the counter medicines can also treat diarrhea. Drink six or more glasses of fluid a day. If your rectum becomes sore from frequent poops, try a warm bath and apply a hemorrhoid cream or white petroleum jelly to the anus. Diarrhea and symptoms usually clear up in one to three days. Although diarrhea sounds bad, I think Thrush may be
worse.
Thrush, also known as oral yeast, is a yeast infection that lines the oral cavity. Thrush is found most commonly in babies, but can affect people of all ages. Thrush appears as velvety, white sores in the mouth and on the tongue.
Thrush is caused by the fungus called Candida. A small amount of this fungus is found in your mouth at all times. Your immune system and other germs keep it under control. If your immune system weakens, that’s when candida can grow. Poor health, old or young age, diabetes, high blood sugar, high large doses of antibiotics, having AIDS/HIV, poorly fitting dentures, or receiving chemotherapy may increase your chances of getting thrush. Symptoms of thrush are the white sores that appear in the mouth. Red tissue that bleeds easily is underneath the whitish material. The sores can grow in number and size.
Infants usually do not need to be treated. Thrush often goes away within two weeks. Yogurt or taking over-the-counter acidophilus capsules can also cure thrush. Antifungal mouthwash or lozenges may be prescribed for severe cases.
Adults’ prognosis depends on their immune system. If their immune system stays weakened, thrush may continue to appear. Thrush may cause discomfort in infants, but is hardly ever serious. The pain can interfere with eating. If thrush doesn’t get better within two weeks, call your pediatrician.
Thrush is an excesses amount of the fungus candida, which is like yeast, found in the oral cavity that mainly affects infants. Diarrhea is watery stools that are loose. Both conditions usually don’t last very long and can be treated on their own.
Diarrhea is gruesome; it can sting your booty and you always feel like you have to go to the bathroom. Although I’ve never had thrush, I think it would be the worse condition to have. Thrush sounds unpleasant because there are nasty sores in your mouth that can pop and bleed. It also can affect your eating habits, which would leave you with hunger and a sore mouth.
