Many individuals who have low vision may have age-related eye disorders, such as; macular degeneration,
cataract, diabetes, or glaucoma. For others blindness is a result of the following; eye injuries, stroke, tumors, retinitis pigmentosa, or other birth defects can be the main cause of their vision loss or blindness. Therefore, in their cases, very little, and often none, can be done to restore loss of vision in these patience. Visual aids, such as; glasses, large print, telescopes, reading software programs, and Braille can make life a bit clearer. When a person has low vision, activities such as; reading, watching TV, and driving, may be extremely challenging. Often people who have low vision are unable to correct their blurry vision even with the help of special aids, including; contacts, eyeglasses, medicine, and/or surgery ("Vision impairment", 2015).
