A. Every day 18,000 children under the age of five die from things we can prevent. They die of things most people in the US rarely worry about. Malnutrition, unsafe drinking water, the lack of an affordable vaccine. UNICEF is doing whatever it takes to reach a day when the number of children dying from preventable causes is not 18,000- it is ZERO

2. Works in 190 countries

B. Secondly Some of UNICEF’s missions
1. Clean water saves lives
2. Protection of children from violence and abuse
3. Special child protection in emergencies and conflicts
4. Education in emergencies
5. Developed school-in-box-kit
6. Portable classrooms with all the supplies needed to hold a classroom anywhere
C. Thirdly Things that UNICEF has done or doing now
1. School kits are being delivered to children trapped in emergency situations
2. In Ivony coast, Libyan border, japan,
3. Post emergency zones: Pakistan and Haiti
4. In the first six of 2012 UNICEF was able to aid more than 145,000 internally displaced children and adolescents in Syria
