physical skills- manipulating pieces of equipment with confidence c. intellectual development- demonstrating an understanding of how to fill and empty a bucket and other items of different sizes d. Language development- talking and discussing what they are doing throughout the activity.

Encourage the child to experience mixing the sand to different consistencies and to feel and use the sand to create shapes . f. Discuss with the child what they are doing and ask the open questions about ‘how things change’ based on the sand activity. Encourage the child to think of other examples of ‘how things change’ eg: flour, butter, eggs and sugar combine to make cakes.
