I waited there silently and diligently until the owner of the house decided to leave. The man was a short and fat man, who was carrying several bags all stuffed to their capacity. I tried to figure out was in the bag, however I couldn’t make out the strange figure, but I was certain it had moved. I patiently waited for the man to get in his car, and leave the sight of the house. When he left I calmly moved toward the house, I tried not to draw too much attention, because the thing I was doing wasn’t exactly legal. I walked around the house until I found an open window on the second floor of the house. Getting on the roof was the easy part, but trying not to get noticed by the neighbors was tricky, but to my advantage there was no one around. I hopped into the open window, and began searching. The house seemed extremely old and weird packages and papers were scattered all over the place. I walked toward the room with the lights turned on, for some reason I was drawn toward it like a magnet. I was immediately attracted to glass containers filled with mysterious liquids, as I picked up the jar, the jar instantly suddenly from my hand and shattered all over the floor. I was instantaneously knocked out by the strange fluids from the jar.
“Chirp Chirp Chirp !” “Chirp Chirp Chirp !” I woke up in the middle of a vast jungle or forest, surrounded by tall trees, and strange flowers that I have never seen in my entire life.. I couldn’t understand where was I or what was I doing here, all I knew was I had to get out of here straight away. As I was about to get up a bird flew right before almost knocking me down, I caught a glimpse of the bird before it left, but it wasn’t like any creature I’ve seen before. I quickly got up and tried to find the way out of this absurd place, to my luck there was a faint path on the floor. I began to follow the path for a while hoping it would lead me to any other place besides this, or even an exit out of this

The model that Disney uses in the Disney Institute, and which much of this book is based on, is call the Quality Service Cycle. It is made up of four main elements: "a service theme, service standards, delivery systems, and integration" (p. 29). These are what are described in the opening chapter as part of "Service, Disney Style." They can be applying to just about any company or organization. For someone hoping to adopt these principles they would begin with adopting a service theme. This is really a goal or objective, even maybe a kind of ideal that they hope to achieve in terms of satisfying their customer, or 'audience'. One of the main ways that this can go from the Disney model to just about any organization is for the people within that organization to use their practical knowledge of their own operations in order to set or establishing service standards. Besides creating a kind of road map on how to achieve the highest standards, these standards also are a checklist that lets Disney or another company knows how well they are doing. For Disney these service standards are safety, courtesy, show and efficiency.…

“That summer the strangest things began to happen in the rear of the house,” John said. “Doors and windows began to slam. I’d go back there because I thought someone had come in.” Upon inspection though, he would discover the screen door and windows were securely latched from the inside. “There was no way anyone could go out and relatch the door or windows,” John said. One of the more unnerving occurrences even stood his friends’ hair on end. When his friends hung out in the kitchen, which is located in the rear of the house, their cigarettes would mysteriously snuff out. This happened on numerous occasions, but never in the front portion of the house. “I was scared to death of that bedroom, “said john of the room from which most of the spooky happenings seem to take place. That room, which had a window to the kitchen, happened to be his late grandfather’s bedroom and the room in which he died of natural causes 16 years…

The outside was white with bricks showing through suggesting the building had probably been there some time. The lobby was several shades of brown except an out of place brightly multicolored cabinet that was in the corner. I was reminded of old books and newspapers as the lobby seemed to be made out of dust in the best way possible and it smelled like warm cinnamon. A sign on the wall offered apartments and hotel rooms. Despite the wooden vacancy sign hung outside, no one came out to greet us in the fifteen or so minutes we waited. We eventually called it and took off down the road. As we walked farther down Wright street and tried to avoid the small amounts of traffic we came across a few abandoned buildings, a photographer’s dream. Cracks and crevasses ran up and down the walls and vines crept up the sides of the buildings, wound their way through the cracks and and bursting through the windows that had been boarded up with wood that had begun to rot. My curiosity was peaked and it took a lot of self control to not find a way in to further explore the buildings but through the remaining dirty windows I could see a lot of old wood and what looked like trash on the floor. The building on the end was especially peculiar for it had the remnants of some poster that had been hung there once upon a time but now all that’s left are some eyes. They seemed to watch you wherever you went and they reminded me of the eyes of Doctor…

On the other wall, there was a narrow plank door. There was an old, rotten apple box with various medicine bottles. The bed was undone, there were objects that I couldn’t recognise all across the floor. Some things that I did recognise were some very sharp knives that scared me a little bit. As I kept looking around, I saw a fair amount of books jus’ lyin’ around.…

Thirsty I made my way towards the kitchen to pour myself a glass of Cranberry Pomegranate juice. Sitting around what’s left of the dining room table one of its hinges obliterated merely three table legs left as a support. A branch from the oak tree near the kitchen window kept tapping against the walls and windows as the wind blows. This branch at night when the murky moonlight blooms against the massive tree meticulously resemble an oversized man with a knife trying to break into the house. I often dreaded coming down the stairs for a cup of water or juice late at night when the lights were off. The terrified image and screeches sound on the window always send me scurrying right back to my room and ducking under the covers trembling for dear…

For the first time, I felt real fear, my legs juddering every step I take, like a man on a tight rope. In my mind, I was mentally preparing myself for the plague to pierce through the windows, with the sound of whirling ghosts filling the room and slowly take me away from this wretched place. Though all my anticipation and mental planning went to waste, I fell into a deep sleep as the sun was returning, and woke again in the next night. Slowly the windows were cracking, the fog pounding on the window, putting so much pressure on it that the house seemed like it could burst open like a balloon. Luckily I could react, I grabbed what was closest and ran.…

Quickly turning the corner, I strode down the alleyway and escaped the pandemonium of the city. The alley was dark and had an eerie look. Old vines climbed up the sides of tall apartment buildings and trash was strewn across the ground. I looked to the ground and saw a dated coca-cola bottle whose label was half gone and the glass was almost stained black. Slowly I bent down and picked up the bottle and began weighing it my hand and looking it over. Still capped and full but it did not seem to be liquid any longer. I continued walking down the alleyway, all the while flipping the glass bottle in my hand. It mesmerized me and I carried on like this for several minutes unaware of the world around me. Out the corner of my eye I noticed a stray cat pouncing on his prey. In that moment, the bottle dropped to the ground and…

I woke up to the smell of smoke billowing in my room. It took a while for me to realize what was happening in my house. However I soon came to my senses and I ran to the door. I touched the door to feel if it was hot and it was scorching. I fully understood what was happening. I immediately screamed trying to get someone to notice, and I heard shouts out of the window trying to help me. I opened the window and began to try and crawl out. I had two choices. Go out the window and be in danger of falling. Or go out the door and be in danger of being burned. I decided that the first option was defiantly the most wise and began crawling down the old trellis that was on the side of my house. I was down about half way and I realized…

Tired, with a headache, and not in capacity to maintain my eyes open, I remembered next day was Halloween, which was the last thing I remembered before falling sleep. I woke up and saw the watch, it was three o’clock a.m. I listened to a weird sound that came from my closet; it was soft, but I could hear it like a rat scratching the walls. Intrigued about what was happening, I woke up and walked towards the closet. The sound gave me the chills.…

It was a dark spooky Halloween night, I had just finished watching Spookley, the Square Pumpkin. After a long night of handing out non-poisoned candy to weird staggering tots at my doorstep, I felt it was time to turn off the light. Walking to my room, I tripped on something slimy, being dismissive, I labeled it as my long lost sweater and threw it in the hamper. The corridor to my room seemed longer than usual this night, my steps seemed louder, offbeat almost. I quickly looked behind me, no one was there. Picking up my pace, the steps sounded closer, faster. Detecting my room door, I flew in and shut the door. with my back turned towards it. I’m panting, out of breath. Turning away the cover to my bed, I saw it. It was…

The street was deserted and the night felt eerie and silent. There was no glimmer of light to be seen. Sweat trickled down his back, his stomach was churning , and his knees felt weak, but he still hurried on not daring to look back now. Blindly he stumbled into an alley. There he searched through his stolen goods. Abruptly he heard foot stepts closing in on him. In the distance he could see red and blue lights flashing. In panic, he began to run. He bashed into bins and tripped over cracks in the path, desperately trying to find his way out of the alley.…

Pulling up on this old beat down gas station. We all knew it was old when the sign was hanging loosely and swinging with the wind. My dad needed to put gas but I could see he was very skeptical. I rolled my window down getting closer to the gas pump, when I smell the most unpleasant scent I have ever smelt. I told my dad we would have to pay for the gas on the inside because the machine was so old that dirt and spider webs built up in the card machine reader.…
