D1: EVALUATE THE MANAGEMENT OF A BUSINESS EVENT, MAKING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS
In this report I am going to I am going to be making clear judgements of how well we managed the fashion show. I am also going to be making informed recommendations as to how next year’s students could improve this for future events. Our main objective that my team and I have is to plan, organise and deliver a successful fashion show, so that we are able to raise as much money possible to give to charity.
Management of the whole team
The structure of our team as a whole was relatively flat because although we had project leaders, we were all on the same level think the management of our team was quite good but not as good as it should have …show more content…
We were the first team to make to make a group chat on our phones meaning we had a much quicker way of communicating with every individual in the team which should have been easier for everyone especially due to the fact we were all in different. Although this was not as effective as it should have been because when it came to the time of auditioning we did not have a complete judge panel which made us look unprofessional which caused our client not to trust us and also didn’t show professionalism in terms of delivering the event. The reason behind this is because there was no further communication closer to the days of auditioning, and this was important as there was a few members of the team who was not available to be a judge on a particular day and there was no mention of what days they would not be able to make it in the group chat. This made the whole auditioning process very unorganised and unprofessional it while it gave us a bad first impression to the first set of models who were coming to audition on that particular day. It also resulted in us running over time because we had to start later due to the fact we had to contact members asking them whether they're still coming or not. In order to overcome this for the future, I recommend that before anything for example the auditions takes place there should be a meeting with …show more content…
This ultimately put us in a bad position, as it made it look highly unorganised not only to the models but to our client because we did not have a clear idea of what we're doing and it was becoming more evident that we was inexperienced event organisers. Not only that, but due to the amount of models we lost there was not enough for each category meaning we had then come to a decision of how we were going to split the models up make them have enough practice to walk in more than one theme. This resulted in the initial training of the models starting later than it should have done, which was not beneficial due to the limited time we had for them to be trained. It also resulted in us having to rush things because we needed enough time for us to go through suitable songs and also how they were going to walk down the runway. This made some of models feel on edge because they did not like the pace we were doing everything which made them also lack faith in us. In order for this not to happen in the future, I would recommend that prior to the training of the models. The initial day of when the team is coming to the decision of which
