The four main resources areas that need to be controlled are human, physical, technological and financial. Unit 2 considers all four of these areas so that you will be able to describe, analyse and evaluate these resources for particular businesses.
Scenario
Alongside your L3 business qualification, you work for an organisation as a business advisor. You are responsible for supporting the organisation on various aspects of business including; business planning, customer relations, human resources and the management of physical and technological resources.
You are interested in transferring to a different role within the organisation, you are going to research the documentation needed to apply for that position and the purpose of each part. You will identify and describe the employability, personal and communication skills required for the role and compare them with the attributes you possess and the skills you expect to have by the end of this course at College.

This will involve: creating a list of the requirements for the job identified in a) above, describing the attributes you possess in relation to this job identifying what additional attributes needed for the job you expect to have by the end of the Level 3 course.

In order to achieve Unit 2 Business Resources: Know how human resources are managed you will need to produce a) a detailed description of the various recruitment documents used within your organisation and their purpose. b) a detailed description of the employability, personal and communication skills required when applying for the specific job role identified in a) comparing them with your attributes and those you will gain whilst on this course. c) an assessment of the importance of employability and skills in recruiting and retaining staff in your organisation.
