List and briefly describe the Wiltshire Council policies and procedures that are relevant to your role in relation the safeguarding young people.
6.1
Health and Safety at Work - (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974)
The policy should have three sections; The statement on health and safety at work, The responsibility and the Arrangements.
The statement sets out the company commitments are in managing health and safety effectively, and what the company wants to achieve.
The responsibility section sets out who is responsible for specific actions.
The arrangements section contains the detail of what the company is going to do in practice to achieve the aims set out in your statement of health and safety policy, Include information on how you are going to eliminate or reduce the risks of hazards in the workplace.

Child Protection – (Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004)
Child protection and Safeguarding are often thought as the same document, and is difficult to grasp. However I found this information below that is the key to understanding Child protection and Safeguarding.

“Child protection is a part of safeguarding and promoting welfare. It refers to the activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm”.

'Working Together to Safeguard Children 2013' sets out how organisations and individuals should work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and how practitioners should conduct the assessment of children.”

“Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as: protecting children from maltreatment, preventing impairment of children’s health or development, ensuring children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care, taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.”
