1. Executive Summary
The aim of this report is to analyse and evaluate the external factors likely to affect UPS and its future operation if UK decide to withdraw their membership out of European Union. To do this the author will set the scope detailing the context to which the report will be based that is UPS UK operation in Europe. For start the author will be analysing all macro environment which has direct impact on UPS operation to be able to understand fully the potential implication of UK stepping out of EU. The methodology has been created to support the analysis and involves PESTLE and SWOT analysis, but also five performance objectives and Porter’s five forces. As stated above this report will be a pure macro analysis, which means that author will be analysing all external factors which may have an impact on UPS operation like: Political, Economic, Legal etc. The author has done some research to allow him to understand the general impact on businesses in UK and whether they would still be able to operate as normal and create positive profit if British vote against EU. United Parcel Service (UPS) is one of the largest package delivery companies, a leader in the US industry, and a global leader in supply chain management operations. The company 's strong market position and large scale of operations enable it to serve a broad range of customers across major international markets and provides it the benefit of economies of scale. However, government regulations could put pressures on the company and affect its cost structure.
