Urinary Catheters are the primary source of infection in hospitalized patients. This Capstone project intends to show that increase knowledge on the importance and the use of a nurse driven protocol, which empowers nurses to remove urinary catheters without a physician order based on set guidelines can reduce catheters associated urinary infection (CAUTI) rates.
