Using E-Learning in EFL Class in Saudi Arabia

1. Introduction
With the vast development of computer technology, e-learning, with the multiplicity of different communication tools, plays an important role in creating, promoting, and developing of education. E-learning is an effective tool in teaching and learning English language, it can help the students to enhance and facilitate their learning process and it has a positive effect on their performance.
1.1. Statement of the Problem
In Saudi Arabia most of the colleges and universities follow the traditional way of teaching, but nowadays with all these technological developments, many colleges and universities improved their educational system, they started to use computers and smart boards in the classroom. However, they are still struggle with integrating technologies into teaching.
1.2. Objectives of the Study
This paper aim to investigate the positive effects of e-learning on teaching and learning English as foreign language in colleges and universities in Saudi Arabia.
1.3. Importance of the Study
This paper examines the relationship between technology (in particular e-learning), teaching, and learning in Saudi higher education institutions. It drives attention to how e-learning can be used to increase students’ motivation, engagement, performance and accomplishment as well.
1.4. Hypotheses of the Study
This study concentrates on the following hypothesis:
E-learning has a positive effect on students’ learning and related to students’ achievement. It helps the students to improve their linguistic and communicative skills.
