Usefulness
This document is very useful as it lets the person who is applying for the job what they should expect when working in the job role.
Strengths
The strengths of a job description are that it tells a potential employee what the job role involves and how to apply. For example a teaching job would involve dealing with kids and carry out various activities.
Weaknesses
A weakness could be that the job description might not give applicant enough or the right information needed. For example it may not tell an applicant all the tasks that need to be carried out.

this document potential applicants would not be able to see if the job is most suitable for them. Also they would not be able to see the tasks that needed to be done in order to successfully carry out the job role. I think this document could be combined with the person specification doc as both these documents make the potential applicants know what is expected of them.
Person specification
Usefulness
This document is useful as it lets the applicant know what is required from them in order to get the job that is being advertise.
Strengths
Is that it tells the applicant what skills and knowledge is needed in order to be eligible for the job role being advertised. So for a teaching job role the employer would ask for a teaching degree and experience in the teaching area.
Weaknesses
A weakness of this document could be that the employer may expect too much from the applicant therefore putting applicants of from applying for the job or may not be able to find anyone with the right skills needed.
My opinion
This document is also important as the employer would want applicants who know they have the skills and knowledge needed to do the job. And as i said before i think this document would be best combined with job description as both of these documents give the applicant give the information and what is required of them..
CV
Usefulness
The CV is useful as it tells the employer about applicant’s previous employers they have worked for, the experience they have gained, the qualifications they have, and their hobbies.
Strengths
The strength of this document is that it gives the applicant a chance to provide the employer with information about themselves therefore making it easier for the employer to decide the right applicants for the job.
Weaknesses
The weaknesses for this document are that the applicants CV could contain lies. For example the qualifications they have achieved may be a lot lower than the qualifications they put on their CV another example could be that the applicant has used a or copied someone else’s CV. Another weakness could be that other applicant may be better at writing a CV than others. The employer might also find this document boring as every applicant will similar structured CV.
My opinion
I think this document is not that important and is very time consuming for the applicant. I think this document is not appropriate for the recruitments process as it can be very boring and does not give the applicant the chance to advertise themselves in such a way that it enables them to separate themselves from their competitors.
Cover letter
Usefulness
This is useful as it gives the applicant the chance to capture the employer’s attention with the knowledge and experience they have in that job role and the reasons why they are applying.
Strengths
Is that it gives the applicant a chance to out shine there competitors as it gives them a chance to introduce themselves the employer and for the employer to get a better understanding of who they are. It also gives the applicant a chance to tell the employer what they know about the business and its operation. For example a teacher would tell the employer about previous teaching work they have done and the experience they have gain.
Weaknesses
The weakness for this document could that the applicant is lying to the employer about themselves or what they know about the business.
My opinion
In my opinion this document is very important as without this document employers would find it hard to decide what applicant goes on to the next stage of the recruitment process.
Application forms
Usefulness
This document is useful as it creates a guideline for the applicant and provides the employer with the information they want to know.
Strengths
The strengths of an application is that employer know exactly what they want to see from a applicant. It is also a fair process as the employer give the same question are on all their applications .
Weaknesses
The weakness of a application form may be that applicants may not be able to understand what is being asked of them. They could also give false answers to the questions the employer is asking.
My opinion
I think document is needed as it lets the applicant know what the employer wants to see or hear. This is why i think this document should replace CV’s because in a CV the applicant will right things that they think the employer wants to see or hear but not all employers would want to hear the same thing.
CRB Doc
Strengths
The strength of this document is that it enables the employer to eliminate applicant that might to a penitential danger to staff or customers.
Weaknesses
The weakness of this document would be that process for the CRB may take a long time.
My opinion
I think this document is appropriate for this for this part of the recruitment process. Without this document the employer could be hiring applicants that could bring potentially bring danger in the place of work. I also think this document should be left how it is as it is an important doc that needs to be check through carefully.
Interview checklist
Strengths
Helps the employer to identify who they need to interview and eliminates applicants who do not have the relevant skills knowledge or experience to on to the next stage.
It can also be used to tick off the things those applicant meet in order to be most suitable for the job.
Weaknesses
My opinion
I think this is also appropriate for this part of the process as it cuts out the applicants who do not have the right stuff for the job. This also saves

The strengths of staff request is that sometimes HR may be too busy to notice where staffs are needed. Therefore manager s within that department can notify HR when staffs are needed.
Weaknesses
The weakness could be that the staff request could be rejected by HR if they feel that the department is in no need of new staff it may also be too much for business to pay the staffs wages
