The issue of abortion has always existed in our world, but it became very well-known through the court case of Roe v. Wade in 1973. The issue of abortion is found in whether people value the sanctity of all human life. A value judgment is determining whether something is right or wrong based on a set of values that are given in a society. There are many different value judgments in regards to abortion that have to be discussed, so that people can determine what values go into deciding this issue. In regards to abortion, the most important value judgment is in determining the value of life of an unborn child. Other value judgments that can be included in this discussion are whether the rights of the baby trump the freedom of the mother and defining the rights of the unborn. Those are just a couple of value judgments that face the topic of abortion, but there are others that could be talked about.
