One’s wealth is taken into consideration on whether they are of importance. In the Importance of Being Earnest, Lady Bracknell took hardly any interest in Cecily. She gave Cecily the cold shoulder, that was until she found out how much money she had. Lady Bracknell says, “A moment Mr. Worthing. A hundred and thirty thousand pounds! And in the funds! Miss Cardew seems to me a most attractive young lady, now that I look at her.” (Wilde 80).
