Abstract
Understanding your learning technique can be beneficial. It can allow one to be more organize and decrease time spending organizing notes repeatedly. The VARK technique is one tool to help people understand their learning style. This tool consist of questions to determine the best way you learn. The questions are straight to the point and your final analysis is based off the way you respond to the questions. You can chose just one answer or multiple to define how you would respond to different scenarios and situations. This paper will discuss this writer preference learning style, differnet strategies and discuss how the awareness of individual learning styles, preferences and strategies influence teaching and learning.
This Writer Learning Style
Versatility is much needed when this author is learning new material. This was confirmed when the results from the questionnaire stated a multimodal learning preference learning style. According to Flemings, “some people with a multimodal preference need to have the same material presented in several of their modes in order to really learn it, while others can effectively learn using any single one of their multiple preferences”. (Fleming 2011) The multimodal consistent of many categories that makes the learner unique on ways they can interpret material. The balance of the different style allow this writer to be open mind when faced with many lecture styles. Instead of having one set way of learning this method opens up many doors to fit the needs of different educators. Flexibility is noted when this writer is receiving information and trying to give to others. When learning material there’s no set ways that will work best.
