Nowadays, transportation in urban area is highly complex as it involved various modes of transportation, locations of the origins and destination and also the population of that particular urban area. The focus of urban transport has been more on passengers as many major cities were viewed as locations of utmost human interactions. Mostly, they move from one place to other place for the purpose of commuting, commercial transactions, leisure or for cultural activities. Beside, urban passenger transport system is one of the medium helping to have better quality of life for every living community. It provides personal mobility and freedom for people to walk, use para-transit vehicle or use other non motorized transport such as cycling. Therefore, bike sharing or bicycle programs have received increasing attention in recent years to increase cycle usage, discourage the length of distance travel took, connect to other modes of transit beside private cars and lessen the environmental impacts. Due to this attention, global hub of fashion, Paris, has introduced bicycle sharing system called Vélib in July 2007. It has been administered by The Paris Town Hall, this bicycle sharing system aimed to improve the transportation system in the Paris city. Undergone many changes and advancements, Vélib has changed the travel habits of its people and is widely regarded not just as business success but also as a social phenomena.
2. Background
The public bike sharing system was common in European countries, among the north European countries including Paris. Vélib’ is a large scale public street-hire-bicycles program in Paris, France. The word Vélib' is a portmanteau of the French words vélo means "bicycle" in English and and liberté means "freedom”. It produce the combination of “freedom of bicycles” means any person can rent a bicycles to commute anywhere they want in more ecological ways, user friendly, fully automated services and it
