The parallels between leaning a physical skill and learning a practice skill is in a way to accomplish a goal(s), and how the goal(s) are recognized. As seen in the video in succeeding in a physical skill done by the adult learner, and learning practice skills for social work students; we are the students being taught what is needed to be known to apply what was learned to other disadvantaged individuals. By learning the information from this course and practice skills, it will help in gaining a better understanding, and become knowledgeable in knowing what is to be done when actively assisting others within our field placement. We will be receiving feedback from our instructors on how knowledgeable we are on the course material, and field experience. Feedback given by the instructors would be of positive and negative responses, but also as learning experience.
The process recording contributes to “learning through reflection,” as a learning and guiding tool for social work students when engaging in their field placement.
The process recording is a way for the student to reflection back on what was observed when interacting with their client. The specific information needed for the process recording helps the student to record their observations and interactions with their client, their strengths and weakness, and their suggestions by their field instructor. Based on what is observed and recorded is a to improve ourselves, and assist the client with issues they are trying to overcome, and to maintain a professional
