Before Visiting The Site:
Being that Ellis Island was the largest immigration station in the U.S. for about 30 years, I imagine I will learn more about what it was like for immigrants coming to America at the time. I predict this trip will be extremely informative.
While At the Site:
As we got closer to the Statue of Liberty on the ferry ride to Liberty Island the information-heavy speech that blared from the overhead speakers explained, that the statue was the first thing immigrants would see when approaching the island. Because of this it became a symbol of hope for the future. At Liberty Island, as well as Ellis Island, there are many plaques and readings
