The cast suited well with the characters, I personally thought that Pia Miranda portrayed Josephine very well. The way she acts with excitement and humour, is outstanding and I personally think that she is a gifted actress. The rest of the cast were pleasing to watch, and were also competent at acting.…
I like the set design of the play it looks realistic it seems like you are living in moment. For example, the wall was made of wood but the color contrast gave a realist impression. Also, the set design is important because it gives idea to audience where the setting of the play is located. Although the building in this play were relatively new, the original Broadway play set design was very worn out. In my opinion, if the play was old then the set design should look like the original Broadway play because on Avenue Q middle and lower class family leave. The apartment look like they leave on Avenue A. In additional, the costume is also important so the audience can figure out who they are. I think costume also show the personality of a character like upper, middle, and lower class and the costume designer of this play did great work. Especially, when two or three character wearing black cloths and the puppets were in red, blue, and green this shows the color…
The acting in this play was great. The actor I was looking most forward to was Brooke Shields. Honestly don’t think that she was that great. It could have just been the character of Morticia, but after it was all over I felt like she stood out the least. To be fare it could have just been that she was having a bad night though because when she was handing out autographs after the play she apologized for not doing well. The other star, Roger Rees, was pretty good. He definitely was not my favorite part of the show, but he did a good job playing Gomez. He was somewhat dry, but he had enough to keep him memorable. Adam Riegler was the young boy who played Pugsley. He did an outstanding job and unfortunately wasn’t a huge part of the show. I would have liked it if they had involved him in a few more scenes. The best part of the show was definitely Rachel Potter in the role of Wednesday. She blew everyone else out of the water in terms of her acting and singing. She was the true star of the show in my opinion. The way she acted really made the audience want things to work for her and the character Lucas. The actors Heide Blickenstaff and Adam Grupper did a good job in the role of Lucas’ parents. I feel that they did there job in being good character foils to Gomez and Morticia. Jesse Swenson was another actor that I thought did great. He played Wednesdays love interest Lucas. He did a fantastic job and was almost as good as Rachel Potter. Another role which I was disappointed in was Brad Oscar…
There were a lot of good things that the actor did throughout the course of the play that I have been taught to do as well. He knew his lines for the most part, his inflection changed at appropriate times, and he used a lot of good hand motions and other gestures. Also, in the first half of the play (before the intermission), the actor played a roll in which he was very romantic and sweet. When he recited the letters, he was able to come across as a very well together and in love man. I genuinely thought he was being sincere and true to Ester. Later in the play, George became very distant and withdrawn. He became a cheating man without morals, who was selfish and inconsiderate. The actor was able to portray two different…
All the elements in the show went perfectly with the actors, the sets, and the lighting. The whole stage was used and the performers moved around throughout the entire stage. The pace of the production seemed to be right. I thought it might have dragged out a little but picked up in the secound act.…
Though when I saw the play for the first time, I realized that the set that I saw was only a small part of the entire set. In addition to the the pox house that was set up with an amazing amount of detail with all of the little trinkets on the shelves, the lights and sound effects also added to the level of greatness. The colors of the lights would accurately match the mood of a scene or set the tone. This is essentially what lights are supposed to do in a play, but it is sometimes overlooked in small school productions. With regards to the sound effects, I was a bit taken aback by the real life aspect of it.…
Although Claire was the main character, the actor who played Millet had the best acting on stage. They way he switch between the two personality was amazing and hilarious. He portrayed the character really well and had me believing for a bit that he actually had a dual personality. His entrance on to the stage in every scene was perfect, every time he can on he was really enthusiastic and his enthusiasm did not fluctuate too much in the play, even though he was not playing one but two characters.…
Now, I see him as an amazing actor. His performance of Pat was realistic, raw and quite…
The acting was also very well done, it is evident that a lot of hours of rehearsal were put into the production. One performance that deserves mention is Clinton Brandhagen as…
The play started in the theatre depicted on the stage and almost immediately the humour as Mr Kipps’s is reading his memoirs and you don’t think it is going to be horror at all and I think this could be done to lulled the audience into a false sense of security which made shocks later in the play a lot more effective. The most important element of the play I feel was the lighting the spotlights was used to great effect and to draw attention to their facial expressions. Also it allowed the gauze to be rendered opaque or see through at the click of a switch which enabled the stage hands to change set…
The actors were phenomenal in knowing how to properly portray the emotions of their character and…
My experience for this production wasn’t what I expected. There were less talking and more action involved to express the character’s feeling. There were many ideas that were a good experience in this play, for instance the uses of the colors, the identical movements, and facial…
U.S President is often considered as the most powerful person on Earth. U.S President has many powers, but President cannot misuse his powers. The system called checks and Balances keeps everything in order for the U.S government to run. If Congress thinks that the president is misusing his power, the congress can impeach the president, but in order to do that congress requires 2/3 of majority votes. There are three branches in the U.S government, Legislative, Executive, and the judicial branches. The president is the head of the Executive branch, which is responsible for enforcing laws passed by the congress.…
Caitlin White Mr.Moore APUSH P3 11 January 2016 Prohibition: the Unintended Consequences January 1920: the United States has just gone dry. Years of drunken husbands beating their wives, crimes committed under alcohol's influence, and other social problems created by the drink led Prohibitionists to believe they needed to get rid of the horrible substance. Different prohibition and reform groups got together to encourage businesses to stop selling alcohol and for the people to stop drinking it. These groups spread the word until they had several states and citizens on board. They believed the more support they had, the more the act would take.…
I arrived at the theatre early enough to walk around because I wanted to soak in the whole experience. There were many people at the theater that night, most of whom were going to watch Phantom of the Opera, dressed in a variety of ways. They were wearing everything from suits and ties to shorts and tee shirts. I was escorted by an usher into a room with a thrust stage in the middle with bleachers in front and tables and chairs on the sides. At first there were only about fifty people, but by the time that the small orchestra stopped warming up by playing some jazz music and the lights went down to begin the play, there were about two hundred people sitting all around the stage. The patrons seemed to be of a variety of different demographics with the slight majority being middle aged caucasian men and women.…
