since 9/11”) We as America need to stop living in a “fantasy land,” and get a glimpse of reality by letting airports across our country have racial profiling.
America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, but we can’t have that feeling of freedom if we allow terrorists into our country. Us Americans need to take on that bravery and stand up for what we think is right to help our country have that feeling of freedom again. This needs to start in our airports. Many terrorists have gotten passed our security without having any problems. These vile people have caused much havoc to our nation. Ever since the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, I have been absolutely terrified to go to big events like that. Americans do not need to live in this kind of fear. That is not what this country was created for. As Tomi Lahren, a conservative political commentator, says, we lock up our doors at night, because we love the people inside our homes. Why don’t we do the same thing to our borders? (FreedomPost.org) There is only one way that these terrorists got into our country, and that is through our international airports.
Terrorism in America is an act of violence on humans that go against our laws. As Americans, we rely highly on the government and military to protect us citizens from whatever comes in harm’s way. We the people need to stand up for ourselves, and tell our government that there should be better security in our airports. This does not mean to get better metal detectors, because the terrorists will find a way around all of our new electronic systems. They have never failed to do that. Richard Reid, a member of al-Qaeda, got around security by putting plastic bombs in the bottom of his shoes. Better security means that there should be racial profiling done by our TSA agents. Suspicious people need to be searched completely before we let them through those gates to possibly cause terror and damage in our country. We have let this go for too long and it needs to be changed immediately. If we know that there is a problem with letting terrorists into our country, then why don’t we change it? Wake up America! We worry so much about other people’s feelings and what they might think. It is time to make a change to this problem, and stop being concerned about what is “politically correct.” If racial profiling will keep us safe, then that is a measure that we as U.S. citizens need to take. Like I always love to say, “If it looks like a tree, then it is a tree.” Anyone can pick out a person from the Middle East; it’s really not that hard.
“Most of the organizations of terrorists that threaten the nation today are based on an Islamic form of ideology that is primarily prevalent in Southeast Asia and Middle East.” (“Racial Profiling Pros and Cons”) Even if some terrorists from other countries have converted to Middle Eastern terrorist groups, you can still tell that something is up and something might be dangerous about those specific people. Using racial profiling is common sense. Searching these people even farther could save us in the long run. TSA agents not only have to just look at what that person is wearing, but they also can look at the boarding pass to see the passenger’s name. If our workers in airport security would take these cautions and procedures into consideration, we might save America from any major or minor terrorist attacks down the
road.
After every terrorist attack, it brings our nation and community together as one. However, this eventually wears off and we only come back together at the anniversaries of these horrible events. Why can’t we be a nation of one all year long? People argue that America is a melting pot, and I agree we definitely are. Although, this does not mean that we need to let harmful people into our country to cause misfortune and disasters to American citizens. Terrorist groups completely brainwash their members so they will do anything to harm other people and even themselves. They may be smart, but we are even smarter. Having racial profiling in airports is the first step to make our country safe and free again, and we need to do whatever it takes to stop these horrible people. Times have gotten worse here lately in our world, and anything can happen in a blink of an eye. Profiling passengers is the main way that we can do this. How else do you think these terrorists are getting into our country? It is time to stand up for what we think is right, and what we believe will make our country a better place so that we do not have to worry about violent Islamic and Jihadist terrorist groups getting into our United States of America.
