Wakeboard Paper
Jessica Lee
12/2/11
Final Paper Amber Wing was born on January 2, 1983. Amber is from and currently lives in Sydney, Australia and wakeboards on her home lake, Port Hacking River. She first began wakeboarding in 1999 and just grew up hanging with “the guys” which according to her is what made her so tough. Amber, also goes by her nickname Ambie, is now a part of the 2012 global Liquid Force team. Amber has received many awards throughout her wakeboarding career. As a female rider, Amber has faced many challenges but also many exciting rewards have come with being one of the few female riders. Amber is one of the best, if not the best female wakeboard rider. She was the first female to land a toeside 720 and also the first female to land a 900. She landed the first 900 on July 14th 2010. Amber also received female rider of the year in the Alliance wakeboard magazine in both 2006 and 2007. Amber is sponsored by many including, Liquid Force, Wing Wetsuits, the wakeboard camp, Supra boats, and Pro-tec helmets. Her hobbies include skateboarding, tennis, and going to the gym. In fact, Amber even stated that if she were not a wakeboarder, she would be a gymnast instead. All in all, I think that Amber Wing is an extremely inspiring wakeboarder. She has accomplished so much already and I am excited to see what else she has in store. There are not many female wakeboarders, nor is it by any means an easy sport. So when someone like Amber Wing comes along, it is extremely exciting to see the things she can
