Walt Disney's Accomplishments
Creative intelligence comes in many different ways, with makers and masters leading the way. Walt Disney was both maker and master of spatial intelligence. Walt Disney’s artwork and animation was of high quality. Walt was the first to produce a full-length animated musical film. According to Walt “All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles have strengthened me… you may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you”. Which means that every little or big obstacle that we face can bring us down and may be to much to handle at first, but believe it or not your learning from your experiences and growing stronger as a result. His first was the creation of Oswald the lucky rabbit who was stolen from him by distributor Charles Mintz. He later searched for a replacement for Oswald the lucky rabbit which happened to be a mouse names Mickey Mouse. He got the idea from a pet mouse he owned back when he was child in a farm in Missouri. But later in 1928 the biggest success came from the creation and release of “Steamboat Willie” which was the first film to include a synchronized soundtrack. Disney planned a bigger project which would be a movie lengthed cartoon in full color and music. Which cost a lot of money and was risky to make this became known as “Snow white and the seven dwarfs” which was released in 1937. It took three years to make it and it was Hollywood’s first animated film. He received a special Academy award for his talented work. After that more accomplishments where created like “Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi which each became a classic. Disney also made nature documents and live action films like “treasure island” and “20,000 leagues under the sea”. He was the first Hollywood studio to embrace the new medium of television with “The Mickey Mouse club” and “Walt Disney presents”. Disney wanted to create an amusement park but didn’t have enough money to create it. So in the early 1950’s he mortgaged his life insurance, stock holdings, house and furniture to purchase an orange grove near Anaheim, California and finance the construction of a 185 acre amusement park. That was named Disneyland and opened in July 17, 1955 it became of the world’s most popular tourist attraction. He later bought another 27,000 acres near Orlando and became another magic kingdom, Walt Disney world. He had many problems with debt and

Walt’s talents were first seen in a silent cartoon named Plane Crazy. Before the cartoon could be released, sound was introduced to the motion picture industry. Mickey Mouse made his screen debut in Steamboat Willie, the world's first synchronized sound cartoon, which premiered at the Colony Theater in New York on November 18, 1928 (Walt Disney, Biography). On December 21, 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length animated musical feature, premiered at the Carthay Theater in Los Angeles. The film produced at the highly cost of $1,499,000 during the extents of the Depression, the film is considered one of the greatest imperishable monuments of the motion picture industry.
